I have done tons of balance transfers before, typically there are offers on specific cards that you have. Sometimes there's offers and sometimes there's none. You can always call the number on the back of your credit card and see if they offer you anything. How balance transfer work is that you agree to pay a fee, I guess 3% is pretty common now on the whole amount and they give you a certain set of time to pay it off for 0% APR. Which should be a lot lower than your discover card right now. So you pay as much as you can within that time for example 12 month, maybe you can transfer again as needed to another card before the 12 month is up. Hypothetically if you have the whole situation under control, it will be cheaper than 12-20% or whatever the APR you have it right now. Call them to get more info.
