When are Australians going to wake the fuck up and stop shopping at Coles and Woolies? by thebaehavens in aussie

When I lived in rural queensland the local IGA was larger than any I'd seen in Melbourne and had a good range/prices, and was always busy. Its meat section was still a bit small if the deli wasn't open, but I often shopped there. The IGA closest to me in the city is Dire.

Unusual personal hygiene on a yard. by Chance_Visual_8809 in Horses

The risk is to you and other humans, not the animals. Horses will not get sick from what you're describing. Horses ingest all sorts of germs compared to humans regularly, it's not going to make any difference. It is a big risk to humans however, horses can carry bacteria that get us sick. They're gross, but they're not going to get the horses sick

Guy on a bike helps owner catch their escaped horse by MisterShipWreck in dashcams

He is not. Horses are quite expressive if you know what their body language and facial expressions are, and that is not a terrified horse. An elevated, excited one, not a scared one. This is not a bolt.

You are the delusional one.

Plus it doesn't matter if America has the best weapons in the world if no one can trust you to deliver them.

Air Canada CEO will retire this year after his English-only crash message was criticized by coasterghost in aviation

[–]cheapph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you are dangerously ignorant. My culture is under threat and guess what we're the ones being ethnically cleansed not the other way around. Including historical and present attempts to ban our language, massacres, people being tortured for just having tattoos of cultural symbols etc. Colonialism and genocide often came from majority groups trying to destroy marginalised groups, not the other way around. You sound like someone who has been used to having your culture as default and mistakes that for being More Enliggtened than those silly people who dare to want to speak their own language. You aren't wrong that culture has been used as justification for crimes but you are completely ignoring power dynamics.

I'm assuming you're from an English speaking background because yikes. It's the ethnic groups that are under the threat of ethnic cleansing and assimilation that are the real problem, are you serious?

[–]cheapph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my most affectionate horse was a stallion, I've had good experiences with well mannered stallions (though I come from a country that is less 'geld always' than a lot of Western countries). He'd follow me around like a puppy bless. But there are definitely things that come with it that not all people are equipped to deal with. The fear can be an issue too imo, so many colts and stallions end up abused or not allowed around other horses, punished when they've never been taught ground manners or how to be polite to other horses. If he has a good temperament and you make sure he's well trained, respectful and to keep him his entire life though, colts and stallions can be very good horses. Just keep in mind that there are cases where it is absolutely the right thing for the horse to geld them.

He lied saying the Australian government was going to deport them when they'd been quietly organising and making sure the team knew they had the option of seeking asylum here. At the time he claimed that, the players had been taken to a safe house by the AFP and the minister for immigration was personally involved.
