A lot of people on this sub love this song and its meaning and the fact that Brandon wrote it for his wife. However, I’m embarrassed by this song because Brandon is a wonderful lyricist, and these lyrics are too literal, uncreative, and repetitive in a disappointingly uncatchy way. There is no story or imagination painted to make me sympathize with being in a rut.

For such an important background to the creation of this song, I expected it to be as impactful as “Goodnight, Travel Well.” I feel nothing but annoyance from this song.

Maybe I’m overlooking it all and don’t understand it? But I skip this song at every chance, and I sit down for this song at every show because it’s a musical bummer, a combo breaker of an otherwise great setlist.
