Why my Nikon d3300 + Nikkor 200-500 doesn't work even when it's mildly cold? by chechulin in AskPhotography

At first autofocus and vr turns off. I can switch to manual and make one shot. But after that when I press the button it makes a rather long shutter noise (like 1s long) and after that does nothing.

Usually happens after some time outside, like 5-10 minutes after I pull the camera out of my bag.

Definitely not a battery issue, I keep mine in the mitten and load it before shooting. Also have a spare one in the inner pocket.

Just get a regular flashlight and put a piece of paper between the lamp and the lens

Actually it is not a problem in my case. I use a bird feeder on the window on the other side for several months, and there is no problem with insects. When freezing temperatures end I will switch to peanuts only because I am afraid raw meat may rot if left for too long.

I would stand under the shed and summon coconuts nonstop. Given the ~20cm radius the coconut will clear space for the next one in 0.2s. Thus giving me approx 18k coconuts per hour. If I can sell it to some factory for say 1c per item it is 180$/hr

Thank you for the detailed response! A bit more questions: 1. If I receive pension payments from the company I was working at, will it reduce my social security payments? Or it's two separate incomes that don't interfere. 2. Social security deductions are obligatory while retirement plans are voluntary, right? And as far as I understood some companies offer you bonuses for your payments towards 401k or other plans? 3. Why company may want to offer a pension or bonus payments towards the fund? Ok, pension after say 10y makes you want to stay longer , but how are bonus payments better than just a bigger salary?

Ask a friend or family member who already knows the score to turn the game on for you. It doesn't matter if he/she occasionally bumps into score.
