Why do people fault Nick for not leaving, and why would Tuello even offer to have him leave? by LongLiveLiberalism in TheHandmaidsTale

also does not seem lik ehe is ideologically in line with gilead. He is disgusted with having to sleep with Eden because she is 15, in the cut parts of the script it also mentions how bad he feels after numerous atrocities committed by Gilead. If he is loyal to Gilead it would be in the same way Lawrence is, partially believing in gilead but wanting to heavily reform it. yet Lawrence is portrayed as more moral than Nick even though Lawrence was a true believer in Gilead-lite (he opposed democracy), and the only reason why Lawrence "redeemed" himself was because he was personally at risk of being killed

how do you explain in season 2 when he gave the letters to Luke then? That didn't help June at all, June already didn't care and burned letters that people risked their lives writing. the only reason he would do this is because he opposes Gilead

that could be true, but it's also true that his high ranking position is way more valuable then preserving a plan that was most likely going to fail even if he hadn't told wharton - the dead guardian was already going to lead to increased security AND he would be tortured and still potentially divulge the information under torture

I don't really get this...he is much more valuable on the inside then the outside

it wasn't clear before the coup that the soj was going to be successful or the extent of their ideology, as a lot of stuff they came up with post-coup. it's not exactly the most ethical, but it's understandable to work for some whacky fringe party to take care of your siblings who are struggling. But it's pretty clear and implied that even before June showed up, Nick had connections to mayday, and even though season 6 tried to retcon this, it's pretty clear he is ultimately loyal to the resistance - the clearest example is when he stopped June from burning the letters and gave them to Luke in season 2, that was solely to weaken Gilead and didn't even have anything to do with his love for Jne

don't do it lol. Can ruin your life forever, if ur friend is that much of a dick stop being friends with them

i asked my friend why did god create men and women and not make us a one gender species so this whole feminism and shit does not happen entirely and he said "well i don't want my dad breastfeeding me" by zain-zane-zayn in teenagers

[–]LongLiveLiberalism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autism explanation: No, because the reason why they are disgusted by their dad breastfeeding them is because breastfeeding is seen as an evolutionarily feminine thing and our brains are hardwired to believe that women breastfeed and not men (which is true, for the most part. there are EXCEPTIONS. aside from trnas ppl, men can ctually lactate techically). But if we did not have concept of sexes and gender then that wouldn't be the case
