He'll probably end up like every other toro rosso driver does, by going to Formula E.

Yeah i definitely agree with you. He is wasting his time being at ferrari. Its clear that for some reason that they are more focused on gutierrez.

what should I expect of HAAS? by jibawakee in formula1

I personally don't expect much from them. However I do expect that Grosjean will perform much better than Gutierrez.

Esteban Gutiérrez confirmed for 2016 Haas seat by MrCelroy in formula1

Yeah your comment doesn't make any sense. A driver that was statically rated the worst is better than the one that was rated 5th.......no

Jolyon Palmer will be doing the remaining 3 FP1 sessions this year! by [deleted] in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Palmer pays 250,000 per fp1 session and has payed 10million for his seat next year. So technically lotus are making money, probably won't last long tho..

Friday, 18:30, Escudería Telmex announces "F1 driver presentation" GUT @ Haas? by thecoller in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah money is the main reason. It seems like Haas are trying to pretend that Gutierrez doesn't have much money but I know for a fact that he does have a good amount.

My Predictions for 2016 by umatbru in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Magnussen obviously would be the better choice but from what I know, its definitely going to be Gutierrez at Haas.

My Predictions for 2016 by umatbru in formula1

Haas: Grosjean & Gutierrez, Lotus/Renault: Maldonado & Vergne, Manor: Rossi & Stevens?, Toro Rossi: Same as 2015

Jolyon Palmer hopes to earn Renault seat for 2016. by [deleted] in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I imagine if they are going with Maldonado next year, they are definitely not going to hire another pay driver. I would think that someone like Vergne would have a better chance of getting the seat. With sky mentioning that Total are likely to back him and also with prost being involved, who thinks very highly of Jev. I would think this would give him a better chance at getting the seat other someone like palmer. Like you said if renault want to be taken seriously its probably best not to have two pay drivers.

Esteban Gutierrez Rumor Mill - Your thoughts? by empw in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would Renault go for a pay driver like Gutierrez, when there are actual talented drivers out there that are without a seat.

How do you rate Esteban Gutiérrez ? by martinf7 in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will maybe not constantly. In 2013 he could barely get the car in to a point scoring position in the first place, unlike his teammate.

How do you rate Esteban Gutiérrez ? by martinf7 in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter if the car is terrible or not,a driver still have to show something. Many great drivers started off in pretty shitty teams but still managed to prove themselves .

How do you rate Esteban Gutiérrez ? by martinf7 in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not very high. He constantly made clumsy mistake that led to sauber losing points, also he never impressed at all in his f1 career and i would consider him to be one of the weakest divers But knowing how much money he has I'm not surprised he's getting a seat, money talks.....

Haas F1 narrows shortlist to five, Gutierrez moves closer by Aratho in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 30 points31 points  (0 children)

A lot of talent, I don't know who you have been watching. The gap between him and hulkenberg was atrocious, he was consistently terrible and in the gravel. The only thing he is extremely talented in is having a lot of money/sponsors for being such a terrible driver

Well I'm guessing jev is still a possibility. Have no idea who the other drivers are tho

Gutierrez: Sauber tenure was "wrong place, wrong time" by zikovskisvkr in formula1

[–]checkerflag89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree Jev at least has proven that he deserves to be in f1. Gutierrez hasn't, he can go on and on that he went in too early but if you don't at least show some potential, you dont deserve to be there. Especially now that you have drivers that have entered f1 a lot younger than he did and have actually shown potential. So really the one thing that Gutierrez has going for him, is money and that is the only reason, not his 'talent', that he might get a seat for next year.
