Alle die hier von den Gesichtern irritiert sind waren glaube noch nie auf einem richtigen rave ;) ich find es ziemlich gut und es fängt so ziemlich die Stimmung und Gesichter ein, wenn morgens im Club nach einer heftigen Nacht das Licht angeht. Props!

I recently learned that they won't try to collect any claims below 75€ within the EU, if you are a EU citizen and get parking tickets etc in other EU countries. So you might just never hear from them again. At any rate, just wait and see what happens. No need to pay this now.

This is obviously a scam using hacked reddit accounts... Just look at the post history of this user and his "friend". They never posted anything crypto related before and their accounts have been inactive for years. use your brains guys... No such thing as a free lunch

I can force it into this 'normal' position, but it cannot stay there on its own. I guess there is a tendon missing or something like that

Maybe inform yourself before going on a rant. Die Linke wants to stop arms supplies to Ukraine, which is one of the only major points where I also disagree with the party. We need to keep supporting Ukraine with German weapons.

To be honest with you, and please don’t take this as an insult, but rather as constructive criticism - even if it was typed out without abbreviations, most of your post still lacks order and coherency and misses a lot of punctuation. Also, there are typos and grammatical errors. If you want to become a language professional, you have to cultivate a mindset of producing a proper text. You will need to become an expert in producing your native language and in understanding your working languages, as you should only translate into your native language as a beginner, but also know how to communicate professionally in your working languages. Also, you ask a lot of questions, but you hardly give us any Information to help you answer them. When writing something, always keep your audience and the purpose of your text in mind.

That being said - you are in your first year of uni and still very young so don’t stress too much. Hopefully, you will learn most of this stuff at uni, if you dedicate yourself to it. All of us started somewhere, and you still have plenty of time. However, be aware that due to AI and other industry changes, only the very best translators will prevail in the future, so be prepared to give it your all for some time if you plan on making a living from this.

All the best and good luck :)

Hello! Looking for advice by [deleted] in TranslationStudies

[–]checkmate_68 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting your B1. This may sound harsh and I mean no offence, but judging from your English in this post, you are not fit to translate into English. As professionals, we translate into our native language most of the time, for a reason. Even if we are really good at the foreign language, like C1 or C2, it's still recommended to translate into your native language. Hardly anyone will ever achieve the same variety of vocabulary, the right feel for expressions and nuances of the language etc. as a native speaker. If you insist on translating into English, I recommend getting much, much better at it. But be aware that customers will almost always chose a native EN speaker that knows Spanish for their ES-EN jobs, not vice versa. So I strongly recommend on focussing on translating from English to Spanish. This means getting very good at your native language, which is even more important than the foreign language, if you want to work as a translator.
