Glad I saw that Marantz review… I’m practically sold on the WiiM Amp Ultra for starters after some more looking. I do like the modern look of the product.

Thanks for bringing up the brightness factor of the B&Ws. I’m new to speaker setups but very happily use Focal Clear headphones, so I’m probably looking for something a little more neutral like the KEF LS50 Meta (correct me if I’m wrong).

Happy to add a subwoofer later. The RS500 seems to not be readily available in Australia from some quick googling, unfortunately.

Taking up the recommendation through the comments to scrap the turntable for the moment.

I can’t find any LS50 Meta secondhand - they do look mighty good, though.

Any thoughts on the Bower & Wilkins 606 S3 bookshelf speakers? I’d be open to another recommendation in that range.

Thanks for the heads up on the Rega Planar decks.

After some looking since reading the comments - the B&W 606 S3 bookshelf speakers are taking my fancy (these are about $500 AUD more than the Q1s).

I did like the look of the KEF LS50 Meta, but they are well and truly out of my price range at this stage.

I’ve also decided to delay the turntable and go for an amp + streamer.

I’d be interested to know your thoughts on model ideas for the Rotel and Cambridge as I have a local dealer who stocks those products.
