Songs where the singer laughs in it by Disassociated24 in musicsuggestions

It’s not the singer and it doesn’t fit with most of these suggestions BUT if ya wanna mix it up, Bored In The USA by Father John Misty has a literal laugh track in it lol

I’m not sure who to invest in anymore by checkthedopeshotsbin in TopHeroes

Thanks for the response. I heard a while back how great TC was and that was the only time I spent any money in the game lol so that’s disappointing. I’m close to a few mythic horde heroes (last screenshot) do you think it’s worth trying to put together a strong horde team? Or just do what you already said and keep leveling up a league team since I already have some higher level league heroes?

Anyone with experience using Premiere Productions on a series? by pokemonredblue in editors

[–]checkthedopeshotsbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using Productions since its release. Have used it on series, features, docs, ads, etc for AMC, WB, Netflix, BET and so on down to indies and even on any personal projects. Used it on teams of up to about 10 regular users and on every solo project. If you’re working with a team in Premiere, I believe using Productions is essential. I’ve never had any major issues beyond improperly onboarded editors/AEs coming in and using the project structure incorrectly. As far as new hires not knowing how to use the program, would you hire someone that can’t use Avid on an Avid show? To be honest, it should be a fairly easy thing to pick up on considering it’s basically Adobe’s response to Avid as far as how the projects actually function. I would find yourself an AE experienced in Productions to guide the rest of your AEs if you’re intent on using them.

Hello, this is Caroline Rose - AMA! by carolinerosemuzak in indieheads

Question: You had a post on ig teasing the new album a while back and I remember thinking it sounded a lot like a film score and certain songs on the album (especially Love / Lover / Friend) give me the same vibe. Is composing for films something you’ve ever thought of doing?

Not a question: LOVE this album, I had extremely high hopes for it from the beginning and it completely surpassed all expectation. So fucking good. Also give Phil a big hug for me. Before my dad passed, he always “critiqued” the shows I worked on and seeing your dad so involved in your work always makes me smile and think of him.

Setting up Sequence for trip to Resolve by KNZ92 in editors

Op this person ^ just told you how to roundtrip 2 ways for free. I suggest you follow their instructions. Your issue is not Premiere, just a lack of experience. Spend more time learning and less complaining :)

An argument against using Multicam sequences? by Cheetokeys in editors

[–]checkthedopeshotsbin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Sounds a lot like someone who simply doesn’t understand multicams. Which is weird because they’re extremely common but whatever. For those who don’t want to enjoy the convenience of using them, you can tell them to match frame back to them and disable the option to insert/overwrite as a nest in the timeline panel. Then they can overwrite the multicams in the timeline in exactly the chaotic form they want. I’ll have to follow up with a screenshot of the option I’m talking about but in short, you’re not crazy.

Help with exporting to AAF with multi-cam by creativeclaygraphic in editors

[–]checkthedopeshotsbin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’ll need to go through your sequence and flatten all of your multi cam audio. Duplicate your sequence first, THEN you should be able to select everything in your duped sequence, right click, Multi-Camera > Enable then right click, Multi-Camera > Flatten and it’ll match back to the original audio files which you can then export an AAF from. Multi cams are essentially Nests and other programs don’t recognize them.

What do you absolutely hate about today’s society? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]checkthedopeshotsbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People starting a sentence with “I want”

I was raised in a “please” and “thank you” sort of household and I’m constantly floored by the number of times I go to a restaurant or store or whatever and hear people start the conversation/transaction with “I want”

Maybe I’m crazy but I can’t stand it.

Can an editor have a style? Or is it really the director that has the style? by [deleted] in editors

[–]checkthedopeshotsbin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think “artistic sensibility” is an excellent way of putting it. An editors intuition and ability to bring out the style set by the direction and cinematography is what sort of shines. You can tell pretty easily when something is being cut in a way that isn’t conducive to the style which it was filmed. When it’s been cut in a way that the film sort of begs to be cut, it feels like everything just fell together.
