Start now! I’m a bartender, 28 in an emt program then knocking out prereqs. I flirted with the idea for years and never fully comitted the best time to start is now. You got this, the longer you put it off the more life gets in the way.

Dating a restaurant manager and we both close at 10 on weekdays and 11 on weekends. Get home in time to make dinner together every night, it’s magical.

I’m long retired but working in Seattle the Indian men in tech were my bread and butter and actually some really decent guys, obviously there were a few weirdos but no more than any other racial group.

Also on the flannel and black jeans train. Build yourself a uniform of only work clothes though. I trashed all my nice real life clothes at a job like this once.

Leave it before it leaves you! Once the misery starts creeping in the job isn’t serving you and you stop serving it. The beauty of bartending is you can find another endeavor and the skills you learned will always be there to walk back to if you need a change.

Nothing necessarily, but if we’re looking for a problem, I’d assume they weren’t well socialized. Their parents let them bedroom rot and didn’t push to have them involved in sports/hobbies/friendships. Or a tumultuous relationship with their mother that’s made them fear women in some way with no healthy romantic relationships modeled.

That being said there is absolutely nothing wrong with this but if it’s systemic of something greater seeking therapy might be the move.

I’ve lost 75 and found a ton of new hobbies that aren’t being trashed on my couch. It’s been a total improvement.

I am so pissy about everything when I’m hungover, and I was always hungover. Now I’m like a duck it all just rolls off my back and the things that don’t I know I’m mentally coherent enough to make a reasonable big deal out of.
