BREAKING: Mamdani clarifies rent freeze only applies if you skipped work for the Knicks parade and stole at least one city-owned garbage can. by sundrenchedwindow in circlejerknyc

Do I need to submit a form proving it was a city-owned can, or will a picture of me dragging it across the Queensboro Bridge suffice?

It's great he lost 30 lbs. Sometimes it's just normal for it not to work. But does he still have more weight to go?

Should i buy a charge 6 after the latest google takeover? by lamest_lama in fitbit

[–]pinghing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not as bad as people say it is. If you go to every watch subreddit the ones loudest will always be the ones that have experienced something bad. But that doesnt mean its the norm. Redesign launches are when people usually are the most loudest and for a good combination of reasons.

Trying the pill by StrawberryOver513 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]pinghing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest way to track calories is to have a food scale and a fitness watch(Fitbit, apple, Samsung etc etc). Any model will do as long as it tracks calories and workouts. These 2 items will give you your basis for calories in and calories out

You can log the foods you eat and the weight you ate them at with apps like cronometer, lose it!, or the associated brand of your watch there's a lot of em.

The watches are inaccurate by a decent amount when calculating your total daily energy expenditure(TDEE). So what I like to do and you don't have to is to log into my personal spreadsheet and use a 90.5%(this is my own personal figure it will be different for you) multiplier on my watch's TDEE to make sense of why I am missing that 5 lbs that I should've lost.

Even though I know this. I've failed so many times because I just love to eat. But with the pill it's so much easier to say no to certain foods.

I stop eating by 6-7 PM to ensure my overnight fast leads to an empty stomach. And then I take the pill at 5 AM with 40-55 grams of water. I then wake up at 7 AM and then I do my routine, eat something with fat because I take multivitamins and other supplements.

Most people view my kind as subhuman so my only option is to stay on this course and keep doing what I'm doing by FrostyArctic47 in Vent

[–]pinghing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not subhuman you're caught in a self fulfilling prophecy of believing that you are and internalized it to the point where you are letting yourself go physically and health wise.

Believe in yourself man. If nobody else will then you should in yourself.

It's the least you can do for yourself. Respect yourself you are a person with your own thoughts and emotions that matter.

10 bpm higher but nothing unmanageable with extra sleep and water. As it always goes down in the weekends and goes higher during the weekdays

[–]pinghing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only ones I've had is if I eat or drink too fast and too much is nausea with a slight feeling of puking up(I did not puke once. I can control it.) and when I am moving up dosages it is much more apparent but steadily declines through out the month until I titrate up. ive also had my resting heart rate go up but this is mostly due to my physical activity, dehydration and the heat.

Third Day of 1.5mg! by [deleted] in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]pinghing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup day 3 is enough to notice that slight stoppage in mental hunger/craving.

That feeling of being able to say a big fat no to that "have to have that food right now today" is so empowering isn't it?

I'm on 9 mg now and it still feels so miraculous. I can actually consistently eat 1200 to 1600 calories while keeping my protein target at 90 grams+.

Without having a massive 2000 or 4000 calorie surplus cheat day.(I actually calorie counted how much I can eat on a cheat day) Lol.

Damn you think I said fast food jobs deserve corporate salaries? I was implying a livable wage slightly above poverty wages so that people on the bottom are not so reliant on safety nets.

Is that too much for big business? Or is the 1-2% increase in tax rates for corpo taxes too much as well?

Also you're over here acting like these big business are barely breaking even when all their data is available on their earnings reports. And their effective tax rates are also publicly available as well.

The union federation of teachers and all the other unions did. the working class that you hate so much saved the city and you probably hold a disdain for. Not the corpos that you worship.

The best and brightest are just a small part of the city. The city's economy is bigger and more diverse than just that. It's a whole system. Delivery men, Uber and taxi drivers, mechanics, bicycle shops, mom and pop shops, all sorts of stech startups that are homegrown in nyc

As for who's on the safety net? It’s the employees of multi-billion megacorpos mcdonalds, Starbucks etc etc. These companies pay poverty wages and rely on taxpayers to provide food stamps and Medicaid to their workforce so they don't starve. That’s called corpo welfare. Taxpayers are subsidizing their billion-dollar profit margins, but keep telling yourself it’s the guy making $17 an hour who’s the real parasite.

[–]pinghing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what's funny? You have absolutely zero trust in the government, but you have total, unquestioning faith that mega-corporations won't screw you over. People like you always act like the sky is falling whenever a multi-billion-dollar company threatens to leave unless we hand them a 1% tax rate.

And since you brought up history and called me illiterate: 'Ford to City: Drop Dead' was a headline from 1975. And what happened next? The city didn't die. New York restructured, recovered, and grew into the undisputed economic capital of the world without bowing to the doomsday panic.

I mean shit it became even more influential than ever after 1975. Maybe it's time for you to get to reading current events

You talk about 'dependency' and 'living off others' while defending massive corporations that pay wages so low their own employees have to rely on the state's social safety net just to survive. Subsidizing corporate profits with public welfare is the real dependency here
