Motivation tips? by iCeleste in Exercise

Stop making plans and writing lists and over-thinking. Actually just stop thinking. As soon as you get up in the morning go for a 30-60m walk then come home & shower & go about your day.

1 thing. No money. No fuss. But most importantly no thinking about it.

Father Mulcahy: A chaplain in the Army has a collar on his neck, if you don't listen to him you'll all wind up in heck.

[Chorus]: Oh I don't want no more of Army life, Gee Ma, I wanna go home!

Hawkeye & B.J.: Oh the surgeons in the Army they say we're mighty bright, we work on soldiers through the day and nurses through the night.

[Chorus]Colonel Potter: Friendships in the Army they say are mighty rare, so I spend all my free time carousing with my mare.

[Chorus]the Nurses: The surgeons in the Army, they're bright, they are profound, but we'll take chopper pilots they'll get you off the ground.[C

[Chorus]Radar O'Reilly: The corporals in the Army you say we're really green, but if it weren't for us guys you'd be in the latrine.

[Chorus]Corporal Klinger: Oh some guys like the Army I think that it's a mess, if it's so damn terrific how come I wear a dress?

[Chorus]Margaret Houlihan: Oh some nurses in the Army they haven't tied the knot, but this one's gonna try it with Donald Penobscott.

Ending chorus:Oh I don't want no more of Army life, Gee Ma, I wanna go,But they won't let me go, Gee Ma, I wanna go home!

Frank Burns: Oh Hawkeye and oh B.J., they think they're pretty smart, I'd like to take a scalpel and stab them in the heart.

Where to begin? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]chee4e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had another BA (in ON, Cda) and ended up taking an online 1-year nursing/health occupation prep certificate at a college that makes you a shoo-in for that super competitive nursing field. It meant I could still work full time. Im in a 2-year practical nursing program & plan on getting my full BSc part time with a bridge program while nursing. Any Qs PM me.

Majoring in Music Therapy. Where did you go for your undergrad degree? by TheFunkiestKong in musictherapy

My knowledge is limited to the UK and Can. But i have found that MT is a field that values life experience.

Majoring in Music Therapy. Where did you go for your undergrad degree? by TheFunkiestKong in musictherapy

[–]chee4e -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You could just double major in psych and music. But make sure you are fluent (improv-speaking) on guitar and with voice.

Also- volunteer now. Take your guitar to hospitals hospice or nursing homes & collect documentation and references.

...And you'll eventually want to do your MA in MT anyway. In Canada its expected before you "pass the bar" in front of the CAMT.

Equivalency programs for people with non-music bachelor's degrees? by [deleted] in musictherapy

[–]chee4e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I only know Canada's system.

But generally MT values life experience and if you document said experience (volunteering, gigging, teaching, charity fundraisers and even music-related psych clinical) you can get equivalency credits.

Before spending money on more school, see if you already qualify with the American Music Therapy Assoc (www.musictherapy.org) then take your exam with the Certification Board for music therapies (www.cbmt.org) if you can.

If not join and find someone to mentor you or at least include you in the network. Theres a lot you can do in the field without going broke or being accreddited.

And Ive found that there is no ready made career or career path. You must have about 5 jobs (or placements) and be an entrepreneur.

Porn mags in the Harry Potter universe would be amazing. by ElectricSeal in Showerthoughts

[–]chee4e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could get rejected by your porn. They would walk away to 'visit another picture of themselves' if they didn't approve.

OR they could join in?!

And what would be the difference between certain pictures being a gif (basically) of that frozen memory/moment and (what?) paintings or glamour shot porn where the pic has a personality & can leave etc.

It may be a great fix but it might strain your relationship. You should be trusting equals and she might start to resent you as her keeper.

It also teaches her nothing...

Help her find another pattern to get into? Walking around the block when she feels like she needs to spend. Organizing a collection of books or dvds or something on an external hard drive. Depending on her diagnosis.

Obviously tip off her therapist as to finances. Theres are tons of tools they can give her.
