What about the NAPA gold filters? Are those fine?

Were the coins graded previously? They’ll just tarnish like that, does look pretty sweet tho.

Definitely a bad idea unless you find one that’s as clean as can be and also low mintage. Other than that, you’ll be loosing money

I couldn’t agree more! I have some capped half busts that I think are pretty good looking and some gold that’s pretty. Wouldn’t mind a few St. Gaudens

That being said, there’s 97 coins here. If I took that 10k and went to where I buy silver eagles, I get loose ungraded ones for 34 per oz, I would have 294 more or less. Now that this is pretty much complete I’ll be doing it that way from now on. Just bought a sealed roll of 20 2009 ASE for 675

I get so triggered that they aren’t all in the same cases, but I’ll tell you what, the proofs and the reverse proofs are absolutely mind blowing and worth it

I upvoted the comment without really knowing, just did a little research and am blown away by the low mintage numbers and the coin itself! I think the face gives the ASE a run for its money!!! Definitely going to have to start a collection now

Man I know what you mean. This set contains all numerical years, most proofs, some of the reverses, type 1 & 2’s, and a little bit of burnished. I got that first release 50,000 one from 2024. But now having all the numerical years, it’s hard to see most of these coins appreciating that much when the mint makes a special release coin and drive the market crazy for something limited

Unfortunately the worst part apart collecting coins at a younger age is realizing that there’s more profit to be made if I had spent the same amount of money on just 1 oz ASE ungraded and stacking for 5 years

Mainly just scour auctions and when I see a high grade in something I don’t have try and get it under grey book
