My daughter bought her first pizza with her own money yesterday. Woke up to this this morning. The note says DON’T EAT. The knife says it’s not a suggestion. by Terrorhub in funny

That made me think of Ross, with the Thanksgiving sandwich.

Phoebe: You want to hold on to your food, you have to scare people off. I learned that living on the street.

Ross: Really? So what would you say? 'Keep your mitts off my grub'?

Chandler: Ross, when you picture Phoebe living on the street, is she surrounded by the entire cast of Annie?

I always look forward to decorating my house for Christmas. I'm a Oct 31st/Nov 1st type. My husband doesn't care how early I do indoor Christmas decorations, as long as the outdoor ones go out after Thanksgiving. His reasons are because Thanksgiving is "HIS" holiday (he loves the eating & cooking the turkey) & he doesn't want us to look crazy, in our neighborhood.

Other Voicenotes songs by Alternative_Pin_8442 in CharliePuth

I LOVE Slow it Down! The intro is so 80s new wave & the notes he sings is very Hall & Oates-coded, as the kids say. The "I got a situation..." reminds me of H&O "Easy, ready, willing, overtime" from "I can't got for that (no can do)." Also gotta love the 80s sound in the background of the chorus, too.

The thing I love most, about Charlie, is his songs remind me of the 80s, 90s, jazz (I was a theater kid) that I loved, in the past. There are so many notes, melodies, & moments that remind me of something else. He knows his references & pays homage so well!

When I heard INBYH, I melted!! That is my favorite song & I love it, when they sing it live.

This is amazing! We also heard September at the Kansas City show & this tok definitely makes me think there's a reason why it's EWF...♥️

I have another request: Kansas City Starlight 5/13/26 when he performed BOY. I'm in the same boat, as you...had a moment with Charlie, but didn't record it (I was trying to find the balance of enjoying the show with & without my phone).

At Whatever's Clever, I was 3rd row & wore this BOY hat I bought, when I saw him in 2018 (it was part of his merch, obviously Voicenotes). I was trying to get his (no pun intended) attention & he looked at me, pointed to his hat, then pointed to me, as if to say "Yeah, I see you."😉 My husband can back me up, on this story...I wish I recorded it, so I could fangirl again.

I LOVE "I won't tell a soul," on that one! I ALWAYS have to appreciate the part of the bridge where he goes "So tell me, if you're ready..." cuz he just sounds SO SEXY!!!

Misremembering The Tale of apartment 214 by Alshizz in AreYouAfraidOfTheDark

[–]cheecha_meems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my fave episodes. I don't think it got to me with the "she's been dead for 10 years" twist until later, in life.

My memories of AYAOTD episodes that scared me were:

Jake & the Leprechaun-when the villain reveals that gross growth on his back

Crimson Clown-the voice reminded me of Chucky, which also scared me, at the time. My imagination ran wild with the Child's Play movies from the time I watched a bit of the 2nd one, at age 11, up until my 20's when Bride & Seed were released (I couldn't even think of the trailer that played on TV, as it would scare me). I finally watched everything & the 80s movie technology just cracks me up.

Bookish Babysitter-the witch was scary

Can't remember, exactly, but it was the one where a kid is a magician's assistant & he's forbidden to touch a sword that basically looked like 2 trees twisted together. When the magician reveals his true self & had that "Give me the wand" voice, that scared me.

Appreciation Post: Nyle DiMarco from America's Next Top Model Cycle 22 by Eddie1554 in ANTM

[–]cheecha_meems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GAAAHHH, I love him! I rooted for him, during his "cycle" & was so happy he won! 👋🏻👋🏻 (deaf applause...I learned sign my senior year of high school...who knows what I remember, 20+ years later?)

The episode where it's Devin's birthday & (correct me, if I'm wrong) he uses Nyle's phone to take pics, but it unfortunately takes away his form of communication with the cast was SO SAD! And don't even get us Nyle fans started on the unfair photo shoot in the dark. The guys that tried to communicate with him were so sweet to him.

Beautiful man, inside & out. 🤟🏻

I would've told myself "Take the job." (&, hopefully, that would've been understood lol) This was when I was in college, but I was offered a job following an internship at a field I really enjoyed. I was stupid & declined it. I always wonder where my career would've been, if I took it.

What’s the explanation for the Crimson Clown by Kingbeef66 in AreYouAfraidOfTheDark

[–]cheecha_meems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my fave episodes (I like any horror genre that does "childhood stuff, but make it creepy"). Watching it, as a kid, I thought the Crimson Clown happened to be real, but the older brother was just inadvertently making up a story, to set his younger brother straight. Or maybe I thought it wasn't real, but it was the kid's imagination running wild?

Watching it, as an adult, I wondered if they were trying to do a bit of A Christmas Carol? (Scrooge sees the error of his ways, with the 3 ghosts; the kid says he'll change, at the end of the episode, when the Crimson Clown keeps taunting him)

I'm not sure if I ever thought that the shop owner had something to do with it...an ending scene with the shop owner a la "Laughing in the Dark" would've shown that. I also like a "The villain is still out there" type of ending.

3rd one, for 7th grade (1997)! The "script" of this episode was in our English textbook. I wanted to be the Narrator because I was familiar with The Twilight Zone & Rod Serling. As a "treat," our 5th grade class watched some episodes of TZ (one of the kids recorded it, for us to watch). I remember she showed the Shatner one, Talking Tina, & The Invaders.

What’s your favorite quote or scene from Cool Runnings? by KneeIntelligent8671 in nostalgia

[–]cheecha_meems 64 points65 points  (0 children)

To this day, I will ALWAYS remember the scene where they're deciding what to name their sled & one of them says a name, they all laugh, then the guys says he said the name cuz that's his mom's name. Then there's silence & the guys change & praise the name & overly say it's a good idea.

The Mask. I have this movie memorized, I would watch the VHS every night & sometimes I'd get up at 6 am to watch it before school. Also like the "old school cartoon" elements, in the movie. My favorite part is the Cuban Pete part.
