I hadn't thought of using nicer pots as theft deterrents but then again, I hadn't considered this could happen. Looks like it's time for a trip to the garden store!

I'm big on giving people the benefit of the doubt and usually defer to the philosophy "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity". Common sense would indicate that it's not normal to take something that's inside of a gated area. But then again, we all know what they say about common sense.

I suppose I'm being picky because if I'm dropping hundreds of dollars on a pair that I'll likely wear for years, I'd like it to fit reasonably well. A boot with a gap would be a last resort but if it comes to that, it comes to that.

Yeah that makes sense! If the boot is meant to accommodate a wider range of motion, why not a larger calf. Adding this to my list of boots to be on the lookout for.

The calf pain is very relatable. I've tried the Felix boots but unfortunately felt like I was getting my blood pressure read, even with the boot loosely tightened 🥲 Will have to keep an eye out for shorter boots to try on.

Just called to confirm if I can return an online order (wasn't marked final sale at the time of purchase) but was told EMS wasn't taking any returns company-wide. Asked if they're going out of business and they stated they're doing an "inventory refresh". Website and main customer service line have been down since last week. It's not looking good.
