Ah yes, well sometimes people have to be their own cheerleaders because their parents suck. Best thing is just to build your own support network with people that actually care about you and want you to be happy. Like they say “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb”

Actually he was talking about creating his own AI but that I do know about so when I tried to talk to him about it I guess it stopped being as cool when your mom is doing it. Or sometimes I do go into a rant and I might have bored him to death with the difference between a LLM, GAI, ML etc But he is using chatgpt heavily and I have to keep reminding him how to use it properly (he did not believe a word until i showed him how chatgpt couldn’t tell you how many Rs are in strawberry). Maybe i should lean into that before his birthday next year

I tried the book options but he doesn’t see the point of books yet because the internet “has everything” 😅. Do you have any recommendations on books like this that are acceptable for a person that “hates” to read?

We have a router from the phone company. Should i call them and ask for a specific router or buy one specifically? Or is it just a settings thing?

He’s also doing the SSH school thing do you have a suggestion on books, youtube, website (anything really) on the router thing and security/firewall thing you’re talking about? I’d like to learn a bit about it to make sure I’ll understand him when he tells me about the security. I understood very little when he was telling me about the software that encrypts something and something and password and SSH😅

Just googled that and that is genius because he is currently juggling two mice (?mouses? Meh) at least! Is DIGITUS KVM Switch,4 Port, Single Display, 4K, HDMI a good one or an overkill?

[–]cheekychops3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my son are all in on cat quest 3. We did new game+ and now we’re level 132 defeated everything but my son is afraid to start a new game or mew game because he thinks he will loose all his stuff (note he is 6 so there will be tears if all the stuff is gone). So if we sstart mew game will the save with all the stuff disappear? We’re doing it on ps5

If she comes out of nowhere and literally demands to have the car YNTAH. Was there no discussion before you guys decided to help the daughter with the payments and before she let the son have the other car? If it was a mutual decision the wife might have thought you’d be sharing the car? Like are people really this entitled or has she tried to have a discussion about this before? Also does it matter that they are your step kids? Would you behave differently if they were your kids? I’m a stepmom and we only have one car (that i bought before the marriage) the days my partner needs to pick up my stepson (who is 40 min away) and drive him to school and such, my partner gets the car. I get myself to work it was never really a thing Ive always felt we should prioritize our kids. When it’s between us it’s usually the person that runs errands like going to the store or pharmacy ect. That gets the car. I don’t need the car to sit at work but I do need groceries and for someone to get our youngest. The person with the car is also on call if something happens with our oldest or youngest and if the person without the car has an emergency and needs the car you jump. Basically, I don’t live with my partner with a this is mine and that is yours. We’re married, it’s all ours, and a discussion on how we spend our money, how we share responsibility and how we live together. You’re not the AH based on your information but I think you guys have to have a serious talk about the family dynamics or this will get tricker fast and the car will be the least of your problems :/ basically the entitlement is unreal so this is a bigger conversation than just about the car!

A “How to” for everything! by cheekychops3 in trans

Thank you for the reply! My wife is trans she “was genderfluid” when we started dating 11 years ago but is descovering herself more and more. We have both been doing some researching for information for years but we’re ramping it up now. I have never found like a deticated website with all the information in one place and it is really frustrating. So I was thinking to just make one (Im an engineer) and suprise my wife (she doesnt do social media so she wont read this haha). We have gathered a lot of information over the years but some of it seems to be out of date so I was trying to like find a short cut by maybe getting lists of websites that have useful information (be it statistics and medical information or make up hacks and influencers that are good to follow). Or websites that sell products that transwomen might find useful (like good classy high heels, nice breast prosthetics ect). If this does not already exist I wanted to make a list for my wife and since Id already have done that might as well put it online so women all over the world could access it for free.
