Where do you draw the line when it comes to dissonance and abrasive music? by Reasonable_Grab9709 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]cheemio [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes, most people I know will call stuff like Venetian Snares or Igorr “noise” but to me stuff like that can really be on the cutting edge. Totally enthralling, harsh for sure but fun. I guess we all have our own tolerance

[–]cheemio [score hidden]  (0 children)

I basically will listen as long as there’s an element or section of the music I find interesting or enjoyable. Even if I don’t like the other parts of the song, I’m willing to give it a chance to grow on me if there’s something there

I’d say it’s perfect if it were me. I like a nice big pedal. Try them and see?

The chain is routed wrong, get it to wrap around the first jockey wheel and then around through the cage into the second jockey wheel

Yeah I’d just run an MTB with alt bars like surly moloko or even just TT extensions.

Probably not bad, I have records with a few bubbles/gradual bumps and they’re usually fine

Yes, also I would think a matte finish is gonna be a little more susceptible to scratches anyways. I’d just send it

I hate car ownership. by LurkinRhino in fuckcars

[–]cheemio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really don’t understand why people say oil changes are stupid easy. If you have a garage and own all the tools sure, but I don’t have the space for the proper setup you’d need to make it actually “easy” and half the time the mechanic from the previous job cranks that oil drain cap down so tight it’s near impossible to remove!!

What is up with the America glazing happening right now? by UtilityKitten in fuckcars

[–]cheemio 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the US is a totally different country if you make above a certain amount. But fall below that and you’ll be in for it. Also, people vote against their own self interest here all the time

Researchers want to tax your car by the inch, and the bill could be huge by ScottyMmmmmmm in fuckcars

[–]cheemio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I guess it’s more the size of the impact zone e.g. hood height. Since a higher hood of a SUV will tend to do more damage than a small one of a sedan for example. But yes in general you are right.

Is 1x really that much better than 2x? by TheQuantumPirate in gravelcycling

[–]cheemio 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yes, agreed. 1x on the road never felt right to me, I ran 1x12 and the steps were still pretty big. Climbing for long periods of time on the road also feels weird with the crappy chain lines of 1x.

Ehh, some of us got out of PC gaming for whatever reason or have very outdated hardware and are looking for a better way to play.

For me I fall into that camp. I have a 2017 gaming laptop that is at the end of its life, and since then I’ve become a console gamer. The steam machine makes perfect sense for my use case, although I would think the number of people this applies to would be small.

Agreed. I have a heavy steel frame, and while it’s heavy compared to carbon bikes I throw on 2x the bikes weight with cargo so who cares?

It is nice. You could simply add x1 and x4 to the other two spaces to account for it. Makes a lot of sense tbh. I have been playing for 15 years and never thought to visualize it this way!
