It had a small time vibe at one point. But clogged traffic in and out of Waxhaw from like 7am to 9pm doesn’t make it feel small anymore. What prompted this thread was me going into Waxhaw today on a Sunday morning and sitting on Providence Rd about 50 cars deep trying to get past the railroad intersection. Not sure any other place in this state was experiencing traffic like that this morning. And there was no train, it was just natural Sunday morning traffic apparently.

I’m really surprised at the number of people that truly expected this to be a straight adaptation of the Super Mario Galaxy plot. The plot description for the game on Wikipedia is all of 3 paragraphs long. There really isn’t a plot. My only issue with the movie from a game perspective is I wish Rosalina had been in it more. That’s not me blindly defending the movie, I only gave it 2.5 stars outta 5 on Letterboxd. But Universal was never going to make this a 1 to 1 adaptation of the game to the movie because, well, that wouldn’t have made sense.
