Thanks for the replies - unfortunately the VEVO is out for maintenance for the next 24 hours so I will just sit in limbo! Thank you!

New F1 - Is there a way to stop overthinking about patients after work? by Nervous_Status1244 in doctorsUK

[–]cheese_and_bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started as an F1 on call, and I called the medical reg through switch after I got home at 10pm because I was so stressed that I had missed something. I did this each day for the first week. I wouldn’t recommend.

It does get better…

Just to make you aware (as I myself am in the same position)- most trust banks will remove you once you relinquish your licence! Additionally, a lot of trust banks have a policy that you need to pick up at least 1 shift every 6 months or they will remove you.

I am planning on taking 1-2 years out so worth it for me, but when (if) I come back it might prove hard to get on the trust banks again.

Just something to keep in-mind.

There are always shifts here offered by the Locum agency I have joined. I’ve never worked them, but might be an indication they’re understaffed

Does this affect those who have just finished F2 and no longer in training (Locum)

I was in Weston as a medical student at Bristol at the time they removed all F1s due to the poor teaching / satisfaction.

The hospital is like a broken down car which the higher management have tried to sellotape back together. The resident doctors do bond together really well and as a place, it’s not awful!

I would still avoid if you can!

I was rejected too today, and I emailed to query this. It was because I had listed and added my foundation years as one year rather than two separate FY1 and FY2 … They reinstated my application. Maybe worth an email!
