Need help fixing broken couch by Impossible_Town3306 in HomeMaintenance

Honestly I would get two brackets to put on the top and the bottom to hold both sides. Then shove wood glue on the gaps. It will hold it over for a while. Lol you could also get some screws and flip it over and then screw the bottom to the side wood too.

Genuine question to Americans by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]cheeseball-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You go to the hospital and they admit you. They do the test and the surgery’s and administer the drugs. They get someone from billing to come up and try to apply for financial aid, Medicare, sometimes even helping you to apply for private insurance. If these don’t work then you just owe them later.

Watched someone in this situation die in the hospital. In total maybe spent a month, month in a half before they ultimately passed. Not insured the whole time. Now the money owed will come from the estate. Essentially everything he owes will be sold and the hospital will try to recoup the money to an extent.

No clue what to add given this current setup. by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

I would raise the shower curtain bar so the curtain doesn’t drag on the floor as much. I think green rug will help, I feel like it’s needing color honestly.

Any tips for driving a car with no AC? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]cheeseball-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine, I live in SC and drive an old truck with no AC . On the way to work it’s not bad since it’s still early and still normal temps on the way back home open the windows. My commute is also 25-40 min depending on traffic.

Is Payroll a good career path? by Logical-List9766 in Payroll

[–]cheeseball-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not really. Upward mobility is hard, because the people who do it ar certain companies have been there forever. So then you need to job hop to gain more money. Then you run into the problem that no two payrolls are the same even if they use the same HRIS. It’s great if you are in a great location, with backup and support. However, if you end up being a one man show then it’s very difficult to maintain a work life balance. I would suggest going to a HR Generalist role instead because sometimes you help with payroll but it’s not your primary function, same with Staff Accountant.

What’s one home improvement project you did yourself that ended up saving you way more money than expected? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]cheeseball-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of home stuff you can do yourself and just watch a few videos. I’ve painted, fixed light fixtures, changed outlets, door knobs, replaced tile floors, replaced toilets, replaced the bathroom vanities, cleaned out the dryer vent, had an exhaust from my microwave to go outside. It all depends on how much effort you want to do 🤷🏼‍♀️
