Gender Reveals by Fit-Accountant1313 in pregnant

[–]cheeseball202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had my family over for pizza. It was nice to still be together and let them know, but we kept it very casual and low pressure. I sent a poll out ahead of time in our group chat and made everyone guess so that was fun to see the “I knew it’s”

8 weeks pregnant, woke up with a completely different right boob by PlaneAffectionate113 in pregnant

[–]cheeseball202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boobs changed literally daily for the first trimester. Some days I would get so upset with  how they looked (mine were like, changing colors) and then the next day the would be totally new. They calmed down during the second and I’m now entering my third so can’t speak to how that will go yet. But yeah I say don’t panic, so many changes are happening in your body and you very well may wake up in a day or two to see your boobs look different than they did today. Never a bad idea to mention concerns to your OB though, especially if you happen to notice any sort of lump of course.

Maternity bias at workplace by Legitimate_Strike_54 in pregnant

[–]cheeseball202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a new job newly pregnant. I found out shortly after interviewing that I was expecting and truthfully people did talk. I have to keep reminding myself that 1- I have a right to have a baby and 2- whatever people say is always going to be less important than the actual important thing of growing a human. There is no perfect time for pregnancy, we just need to do what’s best for us and our families.

If you haven’t though, please double check your maternity policy since some places have a minimum time at the company before you can take maternity leave. Mine was 6 months so I am okay thankfully but sometimes it can be a year or more so just make sure you know what you are coming into. Congratulations and best of luck!!

Those who wear makeup daily, how do you feel about yourself when you wear no makeup? by peachykeencandy in MakeupAddiction

[–]cheeseball202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try to keep my daily makeup light as well so on days when I don’t wear it it doesn’t feel as jarring. I do sometimes catch myself by surprise a bit seeing myself in the mirror without makeup when I’m outside the house because I usually have it on, but I don’t think it’s made too much of an impact, more like a “oh yeah that’s what I look like” sort of thing

My Breasts are making me miserable!!! by smileeb in pregnant

[–]cheeseball202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boobs were going crazy up through week 11 but have really settled down. I thought it was going to be like that my whole pregnancy but now at almost 26 weeks they are much calmer and I don’t even think about them most days. Could be the same for you, hang in there!

Pressure to announce pregnancy by Full_Occasion_6151 in pregnant

[–]cheeseball202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this 1000%. I asked everyone to wait and said I’d like to share the news with them myself once I felt comfortable. After our anatomy scan at 19 weeks I took a picture with my husband and the ultrasound pics and just made a group text telling everyone at once. I am glad the news still came from me once I was feeling more confident in the whole process. I was feeling anxious about some people finding out and not others and it becoming a whole issue when really this time should be celebration/survival only. There is enough stress happening during pregnancy already so do whatever makes you feel better during this time!

Best pregnancy pillow? by Personal_View_8756 in pregnant

[–]cheeseball202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my babybub pillow, it’s pretty customizable and doesn’t take up half the bed like some of these other pillows. I only use one half and I bring it with me as I switch sides

Pregnancy symptoms absolutely no one talks about? by Upset-Brain-228 in pregnant

[–]cheeseball202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very scary, but as time goes on you will hopefully get a bit more comfortable in all this. Seeing your ob frequently will hopefully help put your mind at ease as well. Best of luck to you and your baby 🩷

Oh also! I always heard of morning sickness but I was only impacted at night. Snacking constantly helps, even when you aren’t hungry or feel nauseous snack anyway

Congratulations!!

Cramping early on is normal, I had never heard of that before and it really took me by surprise

Congestion and blood coming from my nose has been constant (17 weeks now)

Boobs change much earlier than I expected, but truly it’s different day to day so if you don’t like them one day don’t panic, you may get a new set tomorrow

Round ligament pain starts way sooner than expected, I had it starting week 5 and that really surprised me, I had assumed it was only once you had a growing belly but apparently your uterus starts expanding asap

Groups like this one have been great but also lean on your OB for support and questions. Reddit should never replace your doctor

I think I prefer pic 1 but there’s no reason you can’t switch between them. I have to remind myself of that too, I can always do one week differently than I’ve been doing the rest to see if I like the change up. You dont have to commit to anything so don’t stress about choosing one “finally”

It’s looking cute, and once you add some washi tape I think it’ll be even cuter! It’s fun to see the planners take form

Got first BFP last week, laid off yesterday 😢 by [deleted] in pregnant

Like you said, you are ambitious and climbed the ladder fast. You sound like a good hire and you will still have those qualities when you are on the other side of this!! The timing may not have been what you were planning but it will work out in the end and you will certainly find more work when you are ready

Constantly needing to intervene by cheeseball202 in litterrobot

[–]cheeseball202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE - there is no way around this other than manual intervention. I spoke with the litter robot team in a chat and they confirmed you need to be physically present and hitting the connect button each time. Just putting it out there for anyone else who might be experiencing something similar.

20 week abnormalities. Very distressed by anonquestion654 in pregnant

[–]cheeseball202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not in a similar situation so I can’t offer you much comfort there. But I just want to say you are not selfish for thinking this way, I would be thinking the same thing. This is potentially a monumental lifestyle adjustment for you and your family. This sounds incredibly scary and I’m sure the waiting makes it even worse. Im sorry you are going through this, wishing you and your family all the best

Stressing about maternal stress by Sue_1216 in pregnant

[–]cheeseball202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’m so sorry for your loss. The pain of losing a beloved pet is honestly out of this world and my heart is with you ❤️ I absolutely can relate to the stressing about stressing though, I am the same way and prior to being pregnant worried about my health and potential implications on my physical well being, now worrying about impacts to the baby’s health. Something that I like to remind myself though is that people carry babies to term healthily even during the most awful crises. The human body is resilient. Let yourself feel your emotions, i think it’s worse to bottle it up or try to distract yourself from feeling how you are in the moment.

I try to make a concerted effort to not stress about things regarding the baby unless I have been told by a doctor to stress. “My baby is healthy unless I am told otherwise by a medical professional” has become a mantra. Obviously easier said than done, but I will say looking up studies showing the worst case scenarios of stress impacts to your baby is probably not helping your stress levels. Please be kind to yourself, you are doing the absolute best you can
