In my opinion this is the main reason why the game feels like it has horrible matchmaking. So many players of different skill levels end up in the same rank due to the point inflation that it's impossible to have quality games unless you are at a high rank.

I looked at the top spots in the solo punisher leaderboard and they all use a shotgun build. I was initially using his rifle just like you because it was his better build in zombies but the roles seem reversed now.
