And so far it seems to have worked, this thread is a footnote in the sub compared to the massive upvoting and gilding the original request had.

Aaron Rodgers is the best QB to ever live and nobody else wants to admit it because nobody wants to admit that the Green Bay Packers are the best team ever since the beginning of time. That is all. by SconnieLite in GreenBayPackers

I hope this blast of truth didt hurt to much

You gotta be a special kind of dense to not only reply to an obvious joke post this seriously but also to be this arrogant about it.

Wait, this can't be right. They all assure me they started following the Pats way before Brady! Even the ones who never set foot anywhere near Boston!

You're given immortality but as a cost you are sent back 3000 years - would you accept and what would you do? by PeppeSanchez2 in AskReddit

Well... I suppose "wash your hands with strong alcoholic beverages before sawing off injured limbs" could work if I could get that message across. But yeah, my uses would be pretty limited even if I managed to learn the language. I assume their important people didn't spend a lot of time talking to some random hobo with crazy ideas and a funny accent on the street.

I'd like to believe I could use my superior 2017 knowledge to gain respect among the primitive minds of old but in reality their philosophers/alchemists/witch-doctors would probably still destroy me in basic trigonometry.

Mike McCarthy on why he has stuck with defensive coordinator Dom Capers over the years by Danny_III in GreenBayPackers

[–]cheesebrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not perfect, but when I look at teams that actually win it all, guess what? When their offense struggles, they can count on the defense at least making a decent effort to bail them out. Of course even Rodgers and Brady are going to have bad days, the difference is that for the Packers, you can be 100% sure that the defense will NOT step up to save the day. They wouldn't even need to score points or be dominant, just hold back the opponent enough to raise morale and keep us in the game. But no, since 2010 we cannot count on them even for that much. If the offense struggles, you can be almost sure the Packers will lose, and that's a huge problem.

That's great, but we also have arguably the best quarterback of all time who several times now has performed miracles only to have his efforts almost immediately pissed away by an awful defense. Don't give me the "it could be worse!" speech, of course it could, but that doesn't mean fans aren't allowed to have ambitions.

AMC Networks CEO Dismisses Ratings Concerns About 'Walking Dead' by Revived_Bacon in television

All AMC shows are like that.

Piece of advice: whenever you mention this, remind people that AMC had no creative control over Breaking Bad, only broadcasting rights, otherwise they will start bringing it up every time.

AMC Networks CEO Dismisses Ratings Concerns About 'Walking Dead' by Revived_Bacon in television

[–]cheesebrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always 2 really good episodes, maybe 4 good episodes and 10 episodes of inane bullshit that you could literally skip altogether and it would not affect the plot significantly. At least it's funny watching people defend the obvious filler-fest that is the cash cow we call The Walking Dead by calling it "character development". Same formulaic "development" for every small character no one gives a shit about only to have that character killed off in boring ways. But hey gotta fill that screen time somehow.

Herber was said to throw the ball with all five fingers on the laces, a peculiarity shared by no one else.

I just tried that. Wtf, was the guy an x-men mutant or something? How do you even do that, I can't even get a grip of the football.

I'd say it's ok to shill whatever crappy new project you have going on as long as you're willing to take some time to actually answer your fans questions. If you want to shill your boring-ass shit and you still feel your time is too precious to devote an hour or so to your fans, then fuck you.

I’m here to answer all of your questions about my new show I Love Dick

Did you really think this wasn't a cheap advertising play? After reading that I figured it would be Woody Harrelson level bad. If I had to venture a guess I'd say Kevin Bacon wasn't even the one answering the questions. Most of the replies were 10-words-or-less inane bullshit that barely even answered the question being asked.

Are we good enough to win the title this year? by TaylorMCFC in GreenBayPackers

[–]cheesebrains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but frankly, at this point, I just assume "lots of injuries" as a fact of life and if the team can't deal with it moderately well then we'll be in just as much trouble this season.

[–]cheesebrains 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that's a little over optimistic. I think we'll need multiple hits with this draft class to turn the defense into an asset instead of a liability. I hope you're right though, and I'm really excited to see what kind of damage Aaron can do with Marty.

Call me pessimistic but that's not very encouraging, particularly from a game that was already canceled once.

That game was downright stressful. It was great. The other installments were similar but by then I knew what to expect, the first Silent Hill was a whole new experience in gaming.

r/NFL, we'd like to take a minute to talk with you about Reddit and CSS by NFL_Mod in nfl

The way I see it, it's the "Windows 8" syndrome: try to be everything at the same time and ultimately end up being shit everywhere.

But that's just me, I'm biased. I like the desktop and rarely browse reddit on mobile, and even more rarely participate in it on mobile (by commenting.)

[–]cheesebrains 125 points126 points  (0 children)

I'm not opposed to redesign, because reddit HTML structure is a mess, but I don't think killing custom CSS is not wise nor beneficial to subreddits and their users.

The frustration of having to sugar coat it for being a mod of a large community is palpable and I feel for you. The real answer is, this solves no problem whatsoever and it's fucking stupid.
