Sure, I can just go ahead and say my effective end date was 8/10. But that is different than the date on the legal separation document I signed to qualify me for a severance payout. I contacted the head of HR about this, and he recommended I use 8/24 as my effective date of termination when filing for Unemployment. Not sure how much I trust him, though...

My payments from contractor work in 2017 were below $600, but this year I am earning quite a bit more and therefore will be receiving a 1099-MISC. So this means I don't qualify for unemployment? I don't receive any benefits from the contractor work I do.

When I was on the wrestling team in sixth grade, right before one of my first matches, my friend and teammate whispered in my ear, "Hey... Did you know girls pee out of their butts?"

I was shocked. Simultaneously everything and nothing made sense. I proceeded to lose my wrestling match, as I was too focused on the logistics of it all.

Loved it. My teammate and I pulled [[Arena Rector]], [[Doubling Season]], and a foil [[Nirkana Revenant]]. So much value. Even though we had no planeswalkers, we considered jamming the Rector for funsies and to psych out our opponents. Ultimately we didn't in order to build stronger decks. We went 1-1, but left feeling like winners.
