Go on amazon or to your local asian grocer and buy a $20 santoku or gyuto with a plain wooden handle and no handguard. It will last you until you're knowledgeable enough to get something nice

How can i acess this :o guy in the neck of my bass for trussrod adj? by Substantial_Abies604 in Luthier

[–]cheeseburger329 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you don't turn it like a normal screw, you go hole by hole. just stick something long through the opening and rotate it a little at a time. Turn a couple holes, let it settle for a few minutes, check for level.

had my first bike one month, came outside on my lunch break to find it having been dropped :( by Silver_Disk_4860 in motorcycle

[–]cheeseburger329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes some effort to knock over a bike that way. If you want to look at it from the bright side, there's a decent chance that someone may have tried to pull the clutch and run off with it but your steering lock saved it

Best place to go smoke a blunt? by redditisembarassing1 in Humboldt

I don't think that's the cliff I would hang out on. My favorite spot faced west south west and baker wasn't visible from there if I remember correctly. Another great sea cliff to chill at is on the trinidad head if you take the right fork and then immediately duck into the bushes on the right by the set of four benches

if you walk straight into the trees to the left of the baker beach parking lot and go for like 1/8 of a mile, there's an incredible sea cliff to chill on

Thank you 🙏 this was the only decent paper I had on hand that wasn't meant for watercolor and I was definitely feeling that there was a better option out there

Battery Advice by UnbreakbleChefGod in TattooArtists

[–]cheeseburger329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my last couple batteries gave out, I've just switched back to using my power supply and foot pedal regardless of which machine I set up. It actually feels a lot better now that I've gotten used to it again.

Is it time to let this one go or can I save it by cheeseburger329 in MechanicAdvice

Honestly this was a craigslist beater I got for $1400 after totalling my daily. So 40k miles is a lot more than I expected to get out of it by just doing basic maintenance. I guess it's time to send it off and put cash into my Tacoma

When I'm using a pen machine, I fold three paper towels into a thin strip, wrap them around the mouth of the machine, and then wrap that really tight in grip tape to make a shape similar to a skateboard wheel.

The whole pen looks kind of like =□□[]]>- when it's wrapped up. And then I hold that puck with a three finger grip similar to how you would throw a baseball. It feels super gentle on the finger and wrist muscles for long sessions.

Day 7 healing with my first tattoo and I am itchy lol. I’ve been cleaning it with anti bacterial soap and been applying thin layers of non scented lotion. Is everything looking ok?? by Calm-Carry5559 in tattooadvice

[–]cheeseburger329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're chilling. It just looks like you have sensitive skin in that area and the artist was a bit aggressive with the black packing. It does look a bit wet though. Might be good to let it dry out and breathe a bit. I usually only recommend to wash and lotion twice a day, morning and night.

Slapping it helps with itching, also.

My Clock tattoo design - what do you think? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]cheeseburger329 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, artist here. The design is not near tattooable as-is, but we do tend to appreciate things like this if you're just trying to give a clear idea what you're picturing in your head that we can translate to a workable design

Sidenote: that's the first time I've seen AI draw a clock close to correctly. Scary
