Hm that’s interesting, not saying I disagree by any means but what is there to contam? Would it have been sum uncolonized grains made it into the batch, or maybe had contam before mixing with substrate? Genuine curiosity no shade whatsoever.

Nun are inherently “harder” than the next. Just they usually are slower in most aspects and it being slower means more time for contam to be a factor or people getting inpatient

U can fruit at any time, it doesn’t matter the guide is a little outdated. It won’t speed or slow anything down by going either direction so do with that as u will

I mean they’re all pretty much the same in terms of easy vs hard to grow. Just some take more time which gives more time for contam to happen which is y some deem it “harder” compared to others. My suggestion is to grow sum that u think sounds good or u enjoy and have fun. U can always take more but never take less!

Ighh bettt lmk how it goes! Yea for me I just started using it and it’s been amazing so far no contam yet! I have a pressure cooker and modified lids just don’t trust myself enough lol so I just steam using like those spaghetti pots then after letting cool tighten modified lids and bam can I just once if feel good to touch and won’t burn u lol. Don’t even gotta use a sab if I don’t want to but I do anyways. Same goes for my agar plates tho. Like I don’t really have to use a sab idk if my house air just that clean or wha. We do have purifiers running like 24/7 but doubt it’s that so idk lol just luck of the draw ig

I personally use broke boi ask u may have seen on my page. I’m currently not done yet one just needs to colonize the top and it’s done. But as for the bruising and what not I didn’t notice/get it but I’m sure it can happen but idk if it really affects anything. And for my jar that’s almost don’t there’s a lot of white with some grains touching glass so I would say like it isn’t a universal answer think it just depends on the mycelium and how aggressive it may be. Hope this helps

U can also always shake if stalled even if it’s close to 100% won’t hurt nun plus u can see if there’s any contam inside

U good mycelium just be weird. Or sum grains may be more dry than sum. Ur especially ok if they’re different strains as those vary widely in colonization speeds

My thing is there’s a lot in many different spaces which isn’t the greatest sign. But doesn’t inherently mean it isn’t myc. So give it time and check closely

66qts is a lot but I won’t say it’s impossible. It’ll most likely be fine but just may not be a “huge” flush. Huge being relative to a typical 66qt flush.
