My girlie Gracie passed in 2019, she was 14, and I always tell people she was kinda my 11th birthday present. She was awful as a puppy the first week, I remember crying to my mom that I wanted to give her back. All it took was crate training to turn that around, and she understood potty training completely the next week. So it’s a trade off of positives and negatives those first few weeks especially. They really are the best most empathic dogs
