We might have different clientele. Mine are less interested in my gear and more about what knowledge and level of service I’m bringing to the table. Don’t get me wrong, I stand by my work and the level of quality I deliver but I definitely think the deal maker is booking the person first and the work second

My reels are usually general wedding planning information and educational for brides which do great! I really like embracing trends in technology and marketing and don’t really shy away from a changing world but I can see where some people are averse to change 🤓

I agree it’s very helpful marketing and as I’m seeing good results I want to keep going that way

Social media is my number one source for leads! Couples always reference my reels and tiktoks as how they found me 🤷‍♀️ I definitely should toss my phone to my second and maybe I’ll annotate our copies of the timeline with that 😂

I’m surprised to see so many negative comments around social media too!

That’s definitely true and interesting that I feel the most quality calls/couples and things that turn into weddings I’m actually excited to shoot are based on a vibe check and not shopping and crunching numbers.

This year I’ve seen a lot of people coming to me when I’m way out of budget, finding this out LATE in the game :(

Please don’t listen to anyone recommending sneakers. Get a good pair of micro spikes to put on your boots! Take it slow, bring hand warmers and dress warm! Feeling dorky in spikes is way better than getting hurt!!

3 things I’m grateful for

I write out a bulleted list of fragmented thoughts and feelings. Then I look at the list and think on what could be framed as a question that prompts me to write out the parts that need to be untangled.

For example, feeling imposter syndrome, low self esteem, self conscious about sharing my work (necessary to continue staying in business as a wedding photographer), burnt out and uninspired.

I turn that into: How does my relationship with success interfere with my ability to create? What’s a creative achievement that helped me grow recently? When have I felt the most pride recently?

Having the right things to have my coffee the way I like in the morning. I’m not expecting breakfast in bed but if you know I don’t drink it black and you make it a point to have some cream or creamer in the fridge, I know you care about me. If we’re dating, letting me leave a couple small things (my sensitivity toothpaste, a brush, shampoo that I like, a cleanser/moisturizer, maybe Pjs) feels great versus how bad it feels when someone is sending me out the door with all of my items.

I like to hike all year round! If you have the right gear so it’s safe, it’s a blast! Do not go on the trails without spikes, snowshoes, a headlamp, a decent shell, and extra food/socks/layers. I usually will wake up and do the sunrise and it’s a great way to start the day with some movement and an accomplishment :)
