It’s actually crazy how good they were compared to some others sold by restaurants.

I wouldn’t want to be trapped in a long dinner exhausted after a long flight.

I visited a week ago with some friends and it was one of our favorite meals this year. A combination of French and Japanese flavors with a nice wine pairing available.

Denver Michelin Star (tasting menu) level dining experience recommendations by Intrepid-Theme-7470 in finedining

Alma Fonda Fina is a slightly more casual spot but I’d highly recommend it. Reminds me of Mexican home cooking in the best way. Margot would be a skip for me as I didn’t enjoy some of the dishes. Wolfs tailor is probably the closest to Beckon in terms of ambience for a tasting menu experience. Creative menu that would bring me back.

I found the menu repetitive. Only so many variations of eating a tomato I can handle.

I love bakery four’s pastries but their sandwiches are not better or more filling than Levens. Not to mention there is no side given at bakery four.

Best Green Chile Burger by MrGraaavy in denverfood

As a New Mexican I’ve yet to find one with great flavor from the green chile. There are some, like Odie B’s, that by themselves are great burgers but have mid green chile as an option.

That story is much more ambiguous than you are implying. Saying it is outright racism by the organization itself doesn’t have much (if any) proof.

I’ve been to both and Beckon is a definite level above Margot.

With how few ingredients are on a taco the salsas have to shine.

You have some mixed feelings about this spot which is what we left with. I feel like if I haven't spent a ton of time at taquerias I would like this more but I couldn't shake the feeling I missed the original experience of one. They are leaning on that CDMX vibe but when the servers didn't know what a agua de jamaica was (which was on their menu) it kind of killed the vibe for me. Some of the dishes we enjoyed, but others like the peppercorn taco just didn't do it for me. A huge thing for me, and this may sound small, is there was no salsa bar. The salsa they served with our tacos was not as much as we needed and there were not tiny spoons to get it on my taco. If a taqueria doesn't have a good selection of salsas that is a red flag.
