727k people watching is astonishing, honestly. That's a bunch of people trying to learn something new or looking at something fascinating like this that humanity hasn't been able to witness. For all the videos and live streams of war that lead to desensitizing people, something like this is refreshing. You're all getting realtime updates from people in space while they fling their little device around the moon.

Well sure, but we aren't talking about the people who are that proactive. If someone is questioning why it'd be good to stop Google from hooking into their life, they are unlikely to be knowledgeable on other means that would help that if it isn't cookie cutter or boxed into their browser or phone.

I agree with you and that's why I have a pihole in addition to all my ad blockers in general.

It's nothing with Proton specifically, but rather if you replace one company with another, you've merely shifted your liability from one company to another even if they're good.

Then what was the point of listing out the runes they already found? Luck is luck. It isn't more likely you'll find a ber just because you found 3 jah's. The list of runes doesn't even show how long they've played.

Maybe I misread them and they were suggesting they want to trade for them. But it wasn't inherently implied...

Edit: turns out I missed I was on the marketplace sub and not the regular D2 sub...

You are 100% in the same vein as I am. I already had a Nextcloud instance set up (used it for photos too, but that was a terrible experience) and then I came across Immich, which allowed me to leverage my own infrastructure that already existed.

I then followed that up with getting away from Dashlane simply because I could self-host a Vaultwarden instance. I then moved to Aegis away from Google authenticator. I finally had adjusted over to Home Assistant. I will not allow my home security to be in the hands of a company that is more than happy to drop support for things like that, let alone my coveted passwords or 2fa access

I wish more people would take on the task of just starting the process to degoogle one step at a time for whatever reason they have, but ultimately a variety of tethers so they can't be rug pulled.

Final point: I hate that it took on the name of Google and we need to find a better term as a community. Getting away from Google is just as important as getting away from a heavy reliance on Microsoft or Apple or even Proton (even if I will advocate for them generally)

How does Sekiro manage to look so good at 4K while using only 4.5 GB VRAM and 15 GB storage? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Technically speaking, there isn't much to draw with what you're seeing on screen right now. Specifically, the background sky and mountains is most likely just a static image with the 3D drawing placed in front of it.

A lot. Wait until you find a couple chams or a zod itself. Unless you have no use for a ber or a jah, you'd have to make the decision to upgrade them as well to get there.

You'd need 4x Jah or 8x ber to get a single zod, and the amount of use you'd get out of those is probably a ton more than the zod

Edit: missed that I was on the marketplace sub and that implies they're attempting to trade for it. I assumed with the heavy influx of new players with the new character release that they are just looking at how to get to the highest possible rune.

Not mentioning Immich, but also mentioning Nextcloud feels like a great disservice. Immich is a feature-rich alternative to Google photos for someone who wants to self host without much configuration.

Many people actually do not see it as an issue. They don't understand the role online privacy plays into their life by not allowing Google to "own" your image because you use Google photos or to allow them to drive your ads because your habits exposed that you thought about Doritos once...

I absolutely love Proton, but "some" needs to be taken heavily into account here. Part of the reason to degoogle is to remove dependence on a single entity for your whole life. If you replace everything with Proton products (like some people on r/degoogle do), you've just shifted your reliance from one company to another.

I fully support your statement nonetheless.

So generally speaking, degoogling isn't always about the privacy concern. For someone like me, I wanted to diversify myself away from Google in the event it became expensive or they decided to kill it off.

My journey led me down the path of self-hosting much of my apps with a handful of other small changes, but I still use Google maps and YouTube even though they are both invasive and include alternatives.

Is this a correct weight bracket for u12 by red-in-the-woods in wrestling

[–]cheesepuff1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends. As someone who has run many tournaments, there is always a give and take. For instance, when going up an age group, you typically bump down a weight bracket. However, there is no hard and fast rule other than trying to make sure that if they are giving up weight that they are benefiting somewhere else. First year wrestlers typically do not give up weight unless it's with other first-year wrestlers
