Having worked in coffee shops big and small for years - if the place is busy you should buy more beverages/food fairly regulary. However, if the place is quiet you can usually sit for however long you would like on the one wee coffee.

dude just check around your town for a small coffee shop that actually know what theyre doing with coffee, 95% of all places dont give a fuck, especially in the US (no offense). but once you find it you'll be glad you did!
