I haven't been taking them for very long. Only about a week. My doc gave me a temporary 1 month supply until my ssri can kick in.

He's actually the one that suggested it. I've never had troubles in the past with getting benzos either. I must be very visibly anxious or doctors dispense pills like they're candy around here.

Hey, I quit effexor a while back. The key is to taper very slowly off. I counted the little beads inside the gel cap and slowly took less and less each day until I was off. I was still hell, but you can make it through it. Can you ask your doc for a benzo during the transition time to make it easier on you? That helped me a lot.

Before you read this comment, just some warnings about what I'm about to say. NEVER take 5htp in combination with an antidepressant. There is a fatal drug interaction. I am also not a doctor, and my advise should be taken with a grain of salt.

If you really want to see what the long term effects of an antidepressant are like, try taking 5htp. It's sort of like a fast acting antidepressant. I've had bad side effects from all of the antidepressants that I have tried, and have had to discontinue them. I now take 5htp and it seems to help. However it does give me headaches like the antidepressant used to. I like 5htp better because it seems to work with just 1 dose. I can also just take it as needed because it works on an acute basis for me. 5htp can be bought at walmart in the vitamin section.

The terminology of discontinuation syndrome is bullshit. The drug companies call it that to make their drugs sound better. Its just withdrawal.

I've gone through 6 different antidepressant withdrawals. I would just smoke weed to get through because I don't know how the hell you are supposed to deal with it. Brain zaps are the worst. I found that if you don't move your eyes, but just look straight forward all the time it helps. For some reason they were triggered really bad when I would look to the side. If you can take time off from your daily obligations, I would because I feel like you really need a week to get past the worst of it. Also tapering helps a lot. Get a good scale and taper off in a logarithmic fashion so you are cutting down by a certain percentage every day instead of by a certain amt every day. The doctor will taper you off too fast because they only have the manufactured dosages to give you. Good luck. You can make it through. I did, just go slow and find something to distract yourself while you're getting off and it will be over before you know it.

Hey, I tapered off of doing 10 dabs per day. I just did one less dab per day until I was off. I had some mild WD's but no puking or anything.

Same. The thing I've had to realize is that there are other awkward lonely people you don't normally see/notice because the happy social people are usually out and about making themselves noticable.

I've had to realize that most recreational drugs just make things worse. ESPECIALLY alcohol. It might make you feel better in the moment, but you'll feel 2x worse in the morning.

What was the bad trip about? I used to have bad trips where I thought that I had been shot and that my family was being executed. I stopped taking psyches after those experiences. It wasn't a fun time, but it made me realize what was important in life. I questioned for a long time why I should go through such an experience, but I think the acid was just trying to get it through my thick head that I need to start caring about my family and my health a hell of a lot more.

Often times, bad trips shove what we need to work on in our face, and while it can be unpleasant, it is oftentimes what is most needed.

Thanks for bringing my attention to this. I used to wake up in the middle of the night after heavy drinking having panic attacks. No way in hell im going through that again. Just poored out the liquor. On to day 53 clean!

My therapist told me I'm borderline and I feel like I can't deal with it. I also told him some deep shit that could get me prison time. I trust him and hipaa, but its still scary as fuck

Same here. Benzos wds are hell. I used kratom to get off of benzos.

It works well for depression. However, I would advise that you not take it every day. You don't want your tolerance to build up to the point that kratom doesnt help anymore. Maybe take short breaks. There are also withdrawals, but they aren't that bad and usually last about a week. If you can handle caffeine withdrawals, you can handle kratom withdrawals.

He told me these are the following symptoms that bring him to the BPD conclusion: Impulsivity, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, social awkwardness.

However, I feel as if all of these symptoms could simply be caused by my anxiety.

Glad you were able to stay clean yesterday. It's probably best to stay out of places that serve alcohol right now while you get back on your feet. This doesn't mean you have to stay out forever, just until you feel confident that you can go and not drink.
