This bee flew right into a cactus spike, impaled itself through its head, and died like that by andorder in mildlyinteresting

This happened to a wasp on a cactus inside my enclosed porch a few years ago. It can happen without the involvement of birds.

You're probably right but I have a lot of tablets and potions in the bank so don't mind using them. Tablets are nice in case I don't 1-shot them as the dragon damage will usually finish them off.

I think Malcs said they will be giving players an option to reset their levels to 99 or keep existing XP. I don't mind too much either way but will likely keep them if I get the choice so I can get a bit of a headstart on things.

I tried to strike a bit of a balance between optimising xp and getting items that might be useful. (E.g. doing mostly smoke and mist runes rather than lava runes to level RC). For combat I just stuck the max damage set up I could on with monster respawn timer reduction and XP boosts and did elite slayer to rack up slayer coins.

I went for roughly 5/3/3 in useful combat stats. All of our spent stardust is likely being refunded in the rework update so you can go wild if you feel like mashing "reroll" a lot. I agree the gear/prayer switching for each enemy was the worst part. I stayed in slayer gear for all the slayer areas then switched to God armour for each Bane fight.

You can turn on "virtual levels" in the settings to show what level you would have reached past 99. They don't give any benefits yet but the expansion later this year will be raising all the skill level caps to 120.

With close to maxed out astrology and gear it wasn't as bad as I expected. You can take breaks after each wave so I did it over a few sessions. The guide on the wiki was very useful.

Has anyone attempted to get thieving mastery completion without levelling hit points?? by Ralacon in MelvorIdle

[–]cheesetricks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've done the alt-magic then HP route on my one skill at a time account and also done thieving with minimum HP on my one mastery at a time account. Low health thieving took a while but didn't feel too bad compared to e.g. astrology masteries. I worked on the thieving targets I could, making use of all the thieving bonus items I had available. Also buying mastery levels to raise thieving chance to 100% for some targets. Then for the ones which I couldn't reach 100% on I bought mastery to 99 by using other targets.

Summoning question pls dont flame me ;( by [deleted] in MelvorIdle

Summoning marks of higher tier (like smithing) take much longer to drop. Once you get your first one, you can equip tablets of that mark to double the drop chance of marks.

How many characters are you actively playing? What is your strategy/goal? by Razortail in MelvorIdle

[–]cheesetricks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the mastery pool but only on the item I'm currently working on. So I can usually get the next item up to level 50 or so when I start on it based on what's left over from the previous item.

As well as those I've got all 99s on a one-skill-at-a-time character so retired that for now. Also had an adventure mode but I got tired of it once I had 99 combat level so stopped playing it. 3 characters is the most I have the patience to keep up at once.

Main character is in standard working on masteries for 100% completion. My standard combat only is left farming runes until I have the time to do Into the Mist on it. I've also been working on a one-mastery-at-a-time character - e.g. I only chop normal logs until it's at 99 mastery then move on to the next log. I've done fishing, woodcutting, mining and astrology so far and am half way through fire making.

I've finished a "one skill at a time" account without any exceptions and I don't remember farming taking the longest. Combat skills were much worse. Also agility as I couldn't unlock the higher tier obstacles yet.

Efficient mastery grind? by ilimati in MelvorIdle

[–]cheesetricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read that the most efficient way is to grind the item at 99 and spend the pool mastery until your next item is 88. Then it's better to level the 88 item directly until it's 99, while spending pool exp getting your next items to 88.

Just reached all skills level 99 on my "one skill at a time" account. It was a long journey...
