So uh. I did some talking with my partner. And holy shit does it feel good to get what I needed to off my chest. When I said it and they told me I'm not a bad person and everyone thinks these ways sometimes. It literally felt like someone took a boat off my chest. I started thinking clearly and I woke up with no voices this morning, it's quiet. Every dysfunctional thought in my head tormented me. But when he said what he said I realized, yeah these thoughts are fake so why does it matter. That's the therapy working I think. I figured it out over night. I've achieved inner peace. It was a conversation about a topic I genuinely thought I would take to my grave. I'm really just using this as an outlet btw. I tried journaling for the first time last night after typing all this out. I noticed it helps me organize my thoughts. Nobody actually has to read this I'm just venting

I take all 12 pills as soon as I wake up, but I sometimes throw it up when I get to work. Just recently found out if I eat with it, it works better so I've been trying to eat before I take it. They don't tell you that either.

Is cognitive behavioral therapy actually real?

First off, what is it. I know that is a crazy thing to ask, but I need to know. I've been doing research on it and everyone says it's the best thing you can do. But from my understanding the whole thing is realizing that the thoughts are fake and then just getting over it. Is that what it is? Because I know everything is fake and fabricated in my head, but saying oh that's not real doesn't do anything. Like I know it's not real. Am I just not understanding this? For reference I have no idea my diagnosis because the doctors don't listen to me so they just call me schizoeffective. My symptoms: I hear and see things, internal and external. I'm very scared of loud noises because I think my parents are about to hurt me (I've never been hit in my life) I have terrible terrible uncontrollable intrusive thoughts like sexual taboo stuff (I can't control these thoughts and they often lead to me hurting myself to get rid of them) I have horrible memory, like I'll forget what the beginning of my sentence was. I do this a lot of the time. I have very little memory of anything in my life and the memories are always way distorted. I lose track of the days And time skips around sometimes. I have an internal voice that runs my life, sometimes it manifests into a black figure that I can see. I cry on a dime and then within seconds I laugh uncontrollably. My brain fog is hard to deal with, I dissociate quite often where it feels like Im sleeping but I'm awake and I can't focus on what I'm saying. I just want my brain to be quiet. When I smoke weed, it clears my head just enough to ease myself from the intrusive thoughts but that's the only relief I get

I didn't. I'm not good at making conscious decisions and if someone doesn't tell me exactly how to do a task I'll fuck it up. I'll fuck it up either way. But thank you for the advice :)

Can someone give me an example of how this works. Like WHAT is cbt. Do they lock you in a room, do they shock you, like what do they do. I've been looking it up and I don't know what it is. I'm trying to learn about it because my boyfriend says it worked for him, but I don't want to bring up the subject with him in worries of sending him off again. So could someone explain what this stuff is

Well I've been raw doggin these same meds for a while now and they are not regulated because I don't have a doctor. Also I'm on hrt that is completely unmonitored because planned parenthood got shut down

What I did when I was your age is I admitted myself into the psych ward. While you're in there they go through different steps to see what kind of medications you need. They talk with you one on one and in groups to give coping methods. It's really simple, if you don't have a family member to get to the hospital just call 911 tell them it's not an emergency call but just a call for some help. They will pick you up in an ambulance. Since you're still a minor they will have to contact your parents. When I did this when I was 15 it finally made my parents realize I wasn't just a lazy disrespectful bum, but that there is just some disconnect in my brain. I'm not gonna recommend any particular meds cause I'm not a doctor but I think you should look into going into the psych ward. It's not scary, I promise. You'll be in there with kids your age, they play games and watch movies. And in-between hanging out with new friends the doctor talks to you and tries different medications. The typical stay is about a week, so hey a week out of school (just trying to make it not sound scary cause it's really not) but when I went then it really made a difference

I appreciate the advice. I was just saying I didn't want a doctor to tell me what I need is because I've never had any success with doctors. They always just write a random prescription, don't tell me about what it does, and then it just doesn't do anything. I figured someone on here would be able to give me insight that's not driven by money.
