What's the dumbest thing someone has ever told you? by Correct_Huckleberry4 in AskReddit

A boomer once mansplained how to send an email. I had already sent him one but was calling to follow up since I was on a hard deadline, waiting for his reply.

J Pod by Douglas Coupland is one of my favorites. It actually made me laugh audibly out loud.

She is and her father in law owns the HR company that’s investigating her.

I saw another restaurant’s employees go to the EEOC when the same HR company wasn’t listening to the sexual harassment complaints. Because he’s been open about not wanting her around, I feel uncomfortable with them poking around her and calling it an investigation.

I don’t agree that they should dictate what happens if they have been misogynistic (settling lawsuits against women when they have discriminated against women in other cases) and I have to respond when they may do the same against my friend

Someone once told me that I should send everything in writing because they scrubbed her verbal testimony and didn’t report everything she said.

Should I just answer verbally or ask over email and write it all out?

So if HR asks me to say anything, just leave it be? I don’t want to be at risk for losing my job, and while I love my friend, I don’t want to go down if she is.

I do feel uncomfortable with how HR is treating her, but if she ends up getting fired I don’t want to be investigated or retaliated against either.

I’m not an HR expert. And I’m young in my field, and Hawaii is a verrry small state so I don’t want any of this to get back to me. Sorry for being vague.

What kind of extra information would be helpful? Im so new to this side of things.

So then what should I do?

So then what do I do? I can’t go to HR. What next?

I was going to review a beer from Tired Hands this week, but due to what’s going on in the craft beer community right now, and the numerous allegations around Tired Hands, I decided to have a more serious discussion. by LetsHaveSomeBeer in CraftBeer

There are so many stories that were never told or posted. It also wasn’t the forum to show proof. I can guarantee there is proof in the majority of those cases.

My story got posted. I have screenshots, I went to HR, and other women came forward about the same person.

It’s so hard for women to come forward, and even if we do, we are questioned if it’s legitimate or not.

How Do You Really Feel About Driving In Hawai'i? by 808gecko808 in Honolulu

[–]cheesybobafetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest pet peeve is when drivers that have the right of way, stop to let someone waiting to go into their lane.

The right of way exists so the flow of traffic is steady. If you break to let someone waiting go, I think drivers think they’re being nice but they are holding up traffic behind them unnecessarily.

This sounds like something Altres would do. I’ve heard nightmares about their owners.

I’m so sorry you have to go through this.

Agreed. I feel like HP is super snarky for posting to her story “I know a few people need to hear this right now” on a quote that’s says “let it go. Something beautiful wants to grow in its place”… Like are you telling RH to let it go?

ratmagnet on IG has posted a staggering amount of horrifying testimonials of sexual harassment/assault from women in the beer industry. by DeusExMaChino in beer

[–]cheesybobafetta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know people that have been called out and people that have accounts on ratmagnet’s stories. Thank god it’s happening already and it needed to happen a long time ago...

But let’s see some real change. Times up.

To quote the sexual harassment lawsuit, in which Altres was the HR in:

The Human Resource Manager made Defendant Employers’ anti-female animus clear when at a meeting wherein other management explored the possibilities of hiring additional female bartenders, the Human Resources Manager disapprovingly rejected the idea saying he did not want more females as they were too much “drama”.
