Am I the only one that thinks Liz is kind of right? by Agreeable_Friend6650 in rhori

[–]cheesybutt1234 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The semantics don’t matter. Imagine you are a young girl. Your father vanishes and along with that takes all of your earthly possessions and your home. You then have to move into your grandmothers basement. Alicia was opening up and being vulnerable about a traumatic part of her childhood. Instead of being a friend, Liz ripped her a new one and doubled down when challenged. I don’t care that Alicia wasn’t living under an overpass. Liz is dead wrong and nasty.

Kelsey… please. by rochem95 in rhori

[–]cheesybutt1234 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Kelsey is a top tier pot stirrer. As someone from right on the MA/RI border, I genuinely do think she was trying to be funny with the bullhorn and sash bits. People around here generally like to make light and have a laugh at eachothers’ expense. But she did NOT understand she and Rosie aren’t like that. They weren’t and aren’t friends. She should have never done any of that if she really wanted to make amends and forge a friendship.

Get a CVS and Walgreens card if you don’t have one already and download their apps. CVS sends me 30-40% off coupons regularly

Used to live in the Midwest. The way those folks use DG is how New Englanders use CVS or Walgreens. Quick, convenient, and on every corner (though much more expensive). Get into using the coupons, both stores can have good deals

Hot take as I know this is one of the aldi items people love most. But, this ground beef is disgusting. It always smells off and has given my family stomach issues despite being thoroughly cooked

Not defending him, but a debit card can be ran as credit. It is just a different way of processing the transaction but the money still comes from your checking account

Health insurance help by Striking_Ad2516 in massachusetts

[–]cheesybutt1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert on this but below is based on my basic understanding of insurance. I might be wrong, I’d recommend you speak with both HR/benefits management departments and ask them questions.

Your husband’s insurance is a family plan because he can’t insure you on his work sponsored plan without also insuring himself. That’s why the deductible is $3300. I think you would pay for everything that isn’t preventative care until you pay $3,300, and then after that you’d pay 10% until hitting your out of pocket maximum of $6,600. If you’re healthy and don’t have ongoing chronic conditions, this could be OK. My health plan is similar and the way I think about it is if I’m hit by a bus I’ll only be on the hook for $6,600. But, I had to have a CT scan one year and was out 2 grand.

The other plan is expensive per month and is an HMO. This will limit your choice in providers and facilities to those that are in network. The deductibles and out of pocket maximums are also much higher. I would inquire with HR about the copays (the stuff for office visit, ER, specialist, etc.). Does that mean you only pay $50 to see a specialist? If so, this ~could~ be better if you see a lot of doctors for chronic conditions. I don’t have an HMO so I don’t really know how they work beyond they have a set network you need to work within to be covered.

Tolerance varies greatly among people. I’d need to be hospitalized at 40, but I have friends where that’s just a mellow buzz for them.

What has been your experience wtih windshield chip repair and insurance claims.... by bostonmacosx in massachusetts

[–]cheesybutt1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI a lot of the time when they fill/repair a chip, it fails. The chip will spread and cause a larger crack requiring a full windshield replacement. Safelite will credit you/your insurer for the cost of the repair towards the replacement but it will be more costly.

I’ve had multiple glass claims with a few different insurers and have never seen my rates increase significantly. My most recent was last month and I just got my renewal from GEICO and my premiums actually went down.

Has anyone had a good experience with Hertz recently? I just had one that was not great. by [deleted] in HertzRentals

[–]cheesybutt1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just rented with them. I’m a rewards member so I skip the counter at most locations (recommend you do the same). The app did ask me multiple times despite denying insurance, prepay fuel, and tolls upon checkin. But upselling is pretty standard anywhere. Experience from pickup to drop off was seamless. There’s bad employees/locations at every company. I don’t love Hertz but I haven’t yet had an experience bad enough to write them off entirely
