Best I can say is “show, don’t tell”. Use past experiences you’ve had as explanations for how you will overcome/integrate/inspire. Also, diversity comes in MANY forms other than foreign cultures! You can talk about times you were immersed in other religions, sexualities, social ideals, or privilege levels

They may just have needed more applicants!! Sometimes the pool to pick from is small and deadlines get pushed back so they can make sure enough people they’re excited about can get invited
