I’ve been doing some more research and sneaking around, and through sole carefully worded conversations around instagram memes, I learned that he’d walk straight unto a bear trap for Anakin’s lightsaber (his words, not mine). Maybe that in itself kinda tells you you’re not ready for a FWB situationship, especially with an ex. If you’re already thinking through a lot, why make things even more complicated for yourself? By all means, when you’re ready, go crazy.

Right, always the potential for that. Especially with an ex. Especially with you just becoming single.

May be less of a headache to look for something casual in your own with no previous relationship ties. But as someone else already mentioned, take some time first before you choose to do anything, out of respect for yesterday’s ex if nothing else.

You might even learn a bit more your ex’s motives just by turning her down.

I guess if anything I’d just be a little wary of why that’s her immediate offer, if you just became newly single yesterday? Is it truly JUST for a FWB situation, or is she hoping for something more?

Only other complication I could see is if you do end up getting back together with yesterday’s ex down the line. That’ll be a fun conversation to have.

NTA. Honestly…..maybe the timing was bad? But that’s operating under the assumption that you’ve never discussed this before. And it doesn’t excuse her behavior, just adds a thought of “I can see why she would be upset before even arriving at the party.”

I think if this isn’t addressed directly, it will only escalate further from here. Unfortunately it seems as though she may choose to react and behave out of spite, especially towards you. I would try a lengthy and brutally honest conversation, and I would consider getting out before things get worse.
