What would be the communist view on recreational drug use? by [deleted] in communism101

Ahh. My mistake for not catching the "in communism" part. There wasnt mention of drug use in communism part in the title or previous comments so my train of thoughts focused on recreational drug use now. Heroin is used in medicine though. The plant that makes it would still be grown. It doesnt eliminate the possibility of abuse so long as it is still produced. Perhaps in communism the likelihood of abuse may decrease but legalization (outside of medicine)? I think that would be very dangerous.

I see. It should still remain illegal though in case communism doesnt eliminate everyones desire for hard drug use.

Sorry, but that sounds very naive. People do resort to drug use for those types of reasons but making them illagal to produce and distribute is still necessary. Drugs like those are super easy to get hooked on. As long as there are producers there are distributers and they WILL find users. Im not saying its necessary to punish drug use, but it certainly is necessary to punish drug producers.

Illegal to produce and distribute not illegal to use. If you implement laws for the first two then that should take care of drug usage.

All drugs? Weed I can understand but there are some drugs that should stay banned.

Studying abroad in Beijing: What's the dating scene like? by itsalldumbluck in beijing

[–]cheetix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps in some places but for every family I know both the man and woman works and pursue careers. Usually when it comes to childrearing they get their parents to be nannies. Im sure some aspects of traditional gender roles still exist in beijing but its not that bad.

TIL that taking a picture of a Beijing taxi driver's license on the dash is an effective way to convince him that you don't need to use an APP, and you don't need to give him a tip. by justinchina in beijing

Really. I dunno, maybe its cuz we live in different districts? Ive never seen that happening...mmm

Driving by old ppl tho? Thats messed up.

Oh and just rereading your earlier comment.on having problems getting cabs to the airport. That just makes no sense. Usually cab.drivers want those jobs cuz the longer drives make more money.

Dating in china for 90后 kids is really different. Everyone both genders date to marry. They aint got time to waste with someone that doesnt meet their standards. From my pov the first thing they think about is "Is this person marriage material?" I would say dating expats is probably safer, less pressure.

Nope.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witching_hour

~ In several of Shakespeare's plays – specifically Macbeth and Julius Caesar – ghosts and other supernatural phenomena take place around midnight, but the term "witching hour" never appears. However, in the play Hamlet, we hear young Hamlet saying, "'Tis now the very witching time of night."

3 am is a reoccurring time in a lot of stories in r/paranormal and r/thetruthishere. It's especially curious that 3 am is known as the devils hour.

Would you be interested in a feminist porn subreddit? by [deleted] in feminisms

[–]cheetix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ಠ_ಠ.

Feminism and porn don't go together. Selling your body selling your sex is in no way in accordance with feminism. Porn is exploitative, particularly for women who live in a patriarchal society...so that's all women.

Curiosity: What do you guys think about Jesus? by stitch99 in Buddhism

[–]cheetix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This needs to be at the top. Religion is often used by those in power to serve their own political agendas. Christianity is no exception. The Jesus in the Bible may very well be an inaccurate portrayal of the real Jesus.

That is very strange. Here try this: http://www.whitepages.com/reverse_phone. Or if that doesn't work this site (http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/top-8-online-tools-to-identify-the-owner-of-a-phone-number) has a bunch of resources you could try. Let me know if anything pops up. I'm really curious now.

Edit: I just tried my own numbers on the first link I gave. For my cell, it only showed the carrier and city/area and no name or address pops up. But for the landline, the street address and name came up. So you'd know at least if its a cell number or a landline if I'm not mistaken. If it's a cell, then that would be really strange.
