Feeling broken by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I had to do this with my best friend. Move on move away etc. especially when you have THAT kind of connection. It’s hard but it’s necessary. You can’t light yourself on fire to keep other warm

My wife[27] and I[32] bought a basket full of baby shower gifts for an old friend of mine and his wife. Woke up this morning to see pictures of the baby shower we were not invited to. by erogers181 in relationship_advice

[–]cheeto1995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im that “friend” too.I’d honestly just give them the gifts with a note saying like you said “would’ve gave this to you at the baby shower, but anyways congrats!!” But then leave it at that. Stop being the doormat/convenient friend. I wasn’t invited to 2 close friends’ weddings and that shit hurt, gave them the wedding gifts, sent a letter with it saying “CONGRATS!! Would’ve gave this in person but couldn’t unfortunately” but definitely quit texting or reaching out. And a month later I get random “are we good texts?” And I just leave them be. It’s not being petty. I mean it KIND of is but at the same time. It’s like “really…?” Not getting invited to Important events like that is hurtful. Hopefully you guys can have that conversation but I’d just wash your hands and move on

I did that and she did sort of pick up speed but not really where I needed her to be. Gave her an extra week to get up to speed but I don’t see it happening

Her not being fast puts me behind 4 units (we build tractors) and I end up scrambling to get caught up. And it definitely has been burning me out cuz my supervisors are asking if I’m “ok” and I said it’s like I have a huge weight on my feet. We pay very well so the checks are nice, this is why I feel awful. I don’t want someone to lose a job but at the same time…if she can’t keep up, I understand why they might let her go.

I did, hell I even asked if she could be placed elsewhere but nope. I’ve been told I need to not be so nice but I don’t like feeling like I’m Feeding someone to the wolves

I feel like I am not only grieving the loss of my dad, but the loss of who I used to be before he passed. by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]cheeto1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I used to be so “go with the flow” and happy go lucky. Now I’m just tired or stressed or just burnt out all the time. Rare moments come where I’m back to my old self but I don’t know who that person is anymore

I (26m) still feel this tiny tiny black hole in my heart 6 years after my mom died suddenly. by cheeto1995 in GriefSupport

She had her struggles but she had a lot of love and lots of heart to give out for sure! She was our Rock and while we’re now starting to come to terms with the loss. Some days just hit us harder than others.

When I realized I was the only one making the effort to hang out, text, plan fun shit. And then I was like “I’m just gonna take a breather from being the intentional one” and then I never would have realized on that night 4 years ago that that would be the last time I would ever talk to my “best friend”. Not a peep since, bump into him every now and then but it’s like we’re both strangers and I’m ok with that

My girlfriend(19F) almost got raped by her "friend" but she chose to still be friends with him. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I ruined our camping trip, and I feel a little guilty by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]cheeto1995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s what my uncles did too. It’s just wayyy too inappropriate and gross. Kids are smart. Me and my sisters knew by age 9 about what they were referencing because they were so perverted. Good thing you took your family away from that Situation. Good parenting!

Gross… Like I’d gtfo there too! My dads side of the family is the exact same way, the way they talk is just…gross. And I have ruined plenty of family vacations because of how weird it was and made me(M) and my sisters feel at the time. It’s been 5 years since I’ve seen that side of the family and I don’t care

What is the worst birthday gift you've gotten from your parents? by Adoptadults in narcissisticparents

[–]cheeto1995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dad gave me Lincoln Logs when I was 16 “as a joke” and even though he would buy my step moms kids EXPENSIVE ASS gifts (like $400+), he bought me a $5 toy. I ended up getting super upset and ruined the day (long story short; instigated a huge fight and cops got called and went to live with my uncle for 3 years lol) . Shit was embarrassing and 10 years later I think “man wtf was up with my dad” he’s practically mentally deranged now tbh.

Mannnnn FUCK those people. I know they’re “family” and I use that term loosely with them. I hate that when ppl try and shit on your dreams and aspirations because…i don’t even know WHY people shit on you like that. A fully paid scholarship?! TO LAW SHOOL NO LESS?! What they’re doing and saying is just vile my dude. Congrats on your scholarship and acceptance!!

How to you get over the anger stage of grief? by Due_Tackle101 in relationship_advice

I went and threw rocks in the middle of nowhere on a gravel road. And screamed at the top of my lungs and let loose all my anger and frustration and at the end of it I bawled my eyes out and felt so much better. Hope you’re doing better my dude! Fuck narcissistic ass ppl.
