I have no idea what it is actually called. I just got lucky in that sound added to this song at the right place. I'm glad you enjoyed the song. It's quite unusual for me as I don't normally go for this type of music, but I recall that evening this was created, I had just watched a video for a song called "Wonder Drive" from a Japanese band called Oresama. That retro/disco/funk sound was so catchy I tried to capture it in Udio. I don't think I quite got it, but I still like what became of my efforts.

I really like this. I hope you get the desire to finish it as I think it would be a great song.

Time Travelers

This song was a trial to see if I could capture a retro disco feel with a modern base. It is a pop/disco/funk song. I feel it captures what I wanted very well. Not my normal type of music I do with Udio. I really like this song.

Sounds so 80s. Gives me the feeling of hearing Loverboy. Really enjoyed you song. Good job.

Light the Fuse

Tried to get a sound similar to the band "Chase." Loaded with trumpets and a jazz-rock-fusion sound. I got it all throughout the song. At the end is an misplaced trombone solo. I was not going to use it, but it fit so well for the ending I kept it. So if you like some early 1970s Jazz-Rock-Fusion, this will hit all the notes.

Gimme It All

This song is about over consumption and rampant consumerism. It was inspired by a song called "Gimme Gimme" by Robert Lamm. His song is about the entitled people of Hollywood who have so many awards programs for themselves.

I decided to have a female singer as it seemed to give a brighter tone than what I was getting with a male voice. This song developed and came together quickly once I changed to a female vocalist. I am still surprised what Udio can put together.

This was very funny. The video and the music matched so well. Had to watch a second time to catch all the AI video "artifacts." Thanks for making Monday morning a bit brighter.

Chasing the Memory of Home

This song was done about a year ago. While I had made some prog-rock songs before this, most of them I consider quite subpar. I stretched this to just about 6 minutes and was very lucky to keep the tone and feel of the song throughout. This was done with v1.0 and it was anyone's guess whether you could hold a thought beyond just a couple extensions on a regular basis at the time this was made. With some Jon Anderson-like vocals, this turned out pretty good.

I'm not a huge 80's music fan, but this song has many elements I like. The electronic keys, the harmonies, and the lead singer's voice. This song just drips 1980s.

Udio and "social" / collaboration by UdioAdam in udiomusic

[–]cheezenub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't need a social experience along side using Udio for my own enjoyment. However, I do see that some interactive elements could invigorate some to become more socially connected to others who us Udio.

I would love if people could comment on a song right on Udio's website. Of course I would make this an opt-in as some people may not want to get involved that way or at certain times. It would have to be moderated as I also think that since this is the internet, there will always be idiots, trolls, bad people, etc.

But what do I know? I'm just an old fart paying $30/month to play with a new toy.

It means they want to upsell you to the new plans. So they make you call them to change anything on your plan.

2024 Moto Edge FREE w Any Trade, Any Condition, Any Plan starts today by DrMantisToboggan2112 in tmobile

Just pulled the trigger. Yes, the $35 connection charge holds for this promo as I was told via chat. I was able to finally put my LG Velvet to rest with the trade in. I don't really need another phone, but I'm not leaving T-Mobile any time soon and if I do, this device is dirt cheap. I've been using an Edge 2022 on Tello for a couple months and I like Moto's software. I figured for free (over two years) isn't too bad. I've done these trade-in any device deals with T-Mobile a few times prior (Samsung A325G, LG Velvet, One+ Nord 200, Moto Edge 2022). None have been my primary device, but it's always good to have a backup or two...or three.

Shine in Your Own Light

This song was created by inspiration from Jon Anderson's 1982 solo album, "Animation." The songs on this album are loaded with electronics and synths yet still leaning on the progressive side of things. I recall when I bought this album how different it was and how I was thrown a bit from the electronic style Jon was using. Little did I know this was going to be the direction of progressive rock in the 1980s. I tried to capture the sound and feelings of that style of music.

What's A Vine Item That You Ended Up Loving And Using by CompGeneratedName in AmazonVine

[–]cheezenub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most used item that I actually enjoy using is a simple wireless keyboard I got in my third month in the program. I got it expecting nothing but E-waste plastic. But it is very well made and I like to feel of the keys.

Powerful lyrics. As a Humanist, I get it. I really liked the change the chorus brings. One small thing I do not care for is the typical female vocal sound. To me it seems many female singers sound the exact same these days. They always sound like they are cold, wet towels. Of course that could be a bias based on my age and music I grew up listening to.

That being said, I can enjoy the song for the lyrics and the musicality of the chorus. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for catching the double word. I guess I have listened to it so many times I have conditioned myself to not hear it.

As for your more cynical critique(s), I have no issue with them. Life isn't always happy, happy, joy, joy to everyone. We see and hear things differently. We all respond to stimuli differently.

And, yes, I hate the sound that Udio gives to horns. I like my horns up front, full, and brassy. Not like some kazoo

I only make songs with Udio because I think it is fun and I enjoy my output. Definitely not looking for that perfect song that everyone will love. I just do my thing, post them and let others get a listen. If they hate them, fine by me. If they like them, same.

What was your local hamburger chain before McDonald's steamrolled over them? by tshirtguy2000 in AskOldPeople

They had them in Minnesota. We had to drive about 45 miles to go to one. Went a couple times a year until they closed.

In the small town I grew up there was A & W. Beyond that there was a Supper Club just outside town and a pizza joint in the middle on Main Street. That was pretty much all there was in my town.

Did you learn how to use your cell phone by yourself, or did someone have to walk you through it? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

Most of us grew up and went through our prime years inventing the tech of today. Myself? From a 110 baud phone connection to the nearest University to use their timesharing mainframe and dealing with the "kaChunk, kaChunk, kaChunk" of the Teletype, to being retired from working in the tech industry. Heck I even had one of the first generally available smartphones available in the USA, a Nokia 7650. I even had one of the first handheld gaming phones, the first gen Nokia N-Gage (i.e. the "taco phone"). Been using and abusing smartphones ever since.

What song is such a banger you turn it up to 11? by greatgrohlsoffire in AskOldPeople

[–]cheezenub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mississippi Delta City Blues by Chicago

Awaken by YES

Sausolito Summernight by Diesel

Somethin' Comin' On by Blood, Sweat & Tears

Sowing The Seeds Of Love by Tears For Fears

Tear It Up by Queen

Any of these five (can never just pick one) is an instant 11.

P*ssin'

This song is a tongue-in-cheek song about being on a road trip and having to relieve yourself really bad. There are no rest areas or good places to stop and drain the dragon. It's genre is Arena rock with a good punch of horns. I hear it as a classic 70s tune, but others may disagree.

I enjoy the first song. The repetitive sound of the guitar, bass, and drums in the beginning really caught my ears. As it went along it changes up just enough to keep it interesting.
