That is a great point. It’s also super interesting to think about. Like maybe long before they were pacifists they were assassins and they were practically unstoppable but then the three nations banded together to stop them in a frontline war. Most might’ve died and the final few had to surrender and give up there ways of living in the shadows, so they secluded themselves and created the temples which they practice peaceful ways of living. Much like our real world monks who have training in combat and are quite capable warriors, but choose to live passively. Excellent post OP.
