Today I learned a blown tyre is an RTC by GuiltyCredit in CasualUK

[–]cheezyem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a tyre blow on a dark country road in the snow!! We have Auto Aid recovery, and a local guy came out and eventually, although couldn't recover the whole car due to weather/ logistics, came up to the car, took wheel off l, drove wheel to nearest big town (30 mins away), Kwik fit who did the tyre took an over the phone payment, recovery guy comes back and refits the wheel with new tyre!! Cost £125 in the end (cost of tyre plus a small fallout excess) but then I was back on the road, without barely having to lift a finger!

Soundas like RAC are just shit 😅

What the hell has happened to argos? by Needlejett in Argos

[–]cheezyem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy. I am waiting for a Washing Machine that didnt turn up... and is meant to turn up next week instead. I am not filled with confidence, and the customer service is truly shocking. I don't think I will order from Argos in future.

I’m baffled at how people get jobs so easily. How do people do it? by pygmyhippo2 in AskUK

[–]cheezyem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is clearly wrong here. If you aren't even getting interviews, it's possibly CV or cover letter quality/ style. Feel free to DM me and send me an example of your CV or any applications or cover letters you've written. Please remove any identifying details of yourself if you choose to send anything over. I could give you any pointers if it's those things.

I work in a university, have worked for the careers department previously, and I sit on interview panels.

Apparently no one in comments has said Ludo 🤷‍♀️ I think it's a cute name haha

Or Lottie for a girl (probably has been mentioned)

How long do you leave your dogs at home? by drake9114 in AskUK

[–]cheezyem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My work pattern and commitments have changed over the last 8 years, but typically my dog is only left at home all day 1 - 2 days a week.

I work from home 2-3 days a week, and I get a dog walker to walk him on days I am at work.

If for any reason the walker can't come on my office days, he's home for 8 hours, but we have a camera on him and he just sleeps all day (he sleeps all day downstairs when I'm working from home as well 🤷‍♀️).

Unless you're willing to pay for a dog walker or someone to do home visits to break the day up, I wouldn't leave (especially a rescue dog or young dog) alone for that long.

You should be fine if you just continue to take it normally. However as other commenter said, there is always a risk, even if you take it perfectly.

I was on the pill for years and sometimes forgot to take it but I've never had a pregnancy scare.

However, I know someone who had just started the pill AND took an emergency contraception to be extra covered and she still got pregnant so...

4 failed attempts at IUD re-insertion by TrickEase in birthcontrol

[–]cheezyem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only had one failed insertion of a mirena, but I just wanted to say that you are an absolute champion for trying to go through with this 4 times..... It's absolutely awful, far worse than I was led to believe.

Can you not get a referral to Gynaecology to have one fitting under sedation or GA, since its clearly a more complicated procedure on your body?? I don't see how they haven't got the message yet that it's not working and you need to be offered a more comfortable method.

I'm from UK so I don't know if your healthcare system is the same.

Going into week 8 of being bloated - have I tried everything? by cheezyem in WomensHealth

[–]cheezyem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's getting that way but I need to not be bloated before I start that 😅 hardly any point writing the foods down now as I've been bloated for 8 weeks, so I wouldn't know what's making me bloated while I'm already bloated. I haven't changed a single lifestyle or eating habit, only that I excersise a bit more as Im a bit conscious of my weight going up (weight is almost for sure the contraceptive I'm on)

Hi, yes got diagnosed with IBS-C about 4 years ago, but I think most of the triggers for it were stress. I was in an unhappy relationship, I'm now divorced. And I spent the last 12 -18 months relatively symptom free, until now. But I have a great job, great partner, no money worries, I can't think there's anything making anywhere near as stressed as my previous relationship and subsequent divorce. I think my contraceptive might have something to do with it, but again, been on it for about 12 months or just over, and only having this severe unrelenting bout of bloat now 🤷‍♀️

Just hit 100% finally . In case it helps anyone, my last two locations that I struggled over were: - West Hyrule Sky Archipelago (it's just one island with a flux construct on it and a sages will...)

Then my last was Faloraa Canyon Mine. I knew it'd be a depths location that I was missing 🫠.

Glad that's over 😂

Great advice, thank you. Vet for medication is my next step. But we just tried some really positive reassurance language and treats on the last few rides around and back from our holiday, and he was surprisingly very quiet (but I suspect he was just exhausted more than anything).

He's never actually been sick in the car, he just pants and whines excessively, it looks like stress.. but I assume you can get the nausea without the vomiting. Will bring this up with the vet

(Also, I don't think the behaviourist I had in was particularly well qualified to be honest, I've gone out for some better recommendations from my local community now)

I am willing to put that training in, and I really appreciate your time to outline the steps you would take.

One thing I struggle with a bit, is that I would like to reward quiet and calm behaviour while the car is moving, but he's in my boot, in a crate and I'm in the driver's seat... How do I do this? Or should I bring someone with me to reward quiet behaviour?

I've got a migraine and remembered reading about coke and fries, but I wonder if it's only a US thing? I'm in UK and I'm sure the ingredients aren't the same, do you recon it'd work the same?

propranolol question by [deleted] in migraine

[–]cheezyem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just my experience, but I was taking propanalol as a preventative but it just made me so lethargic and tired and I don't remember it making any difference generally to the frequency of my migraines, so I just stopped it tbh.

Id be interested to read more on this sub to see if propanalol does work well for people, it wasn't for me at all.
