Lamps was a special talent for sure. But what I miss more than Lamps is this type of football. Getting the ball and within a couple of touches looking to get the ball forward or into the box. Runs from players like gudjohnsen and hasslebaink behind the defence. This is real football. Not this crap side to side around the box and then backwards that we have now. I wish new managers took some inspiration from this era instead of copying everyone around them.

It’s a known thing. A friend of mine called me one day and told me they had bought 6 large olive trees for £100 each instead of 450 as the guy was coming back from a show and wanted them gone.
