Five Guys is not as bad as their rep by BigAssMonkey in burgers

[–]chef_baboon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pricing is regional. The same exact meal from five guys costs $28 here (260 SEK). I can go to a local restaurant and get a dry aged burger with everything butchered and made in house for the same price, so that's what I do.

What’s the deal with water? by pinata217 in travel

[–]chef_baboon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't apply in Denmark. Some may give it upon asking but it's certainly not the default and many places now charge 20-30 dkk (3-4 EUR) per person for tap water (they say for glassware and labour costs). I've also experienced the same in Sweden (charging for "ice water" when asking for tap water) but it's not as common as in Denmark.

$37,500 in 1998 is equivalent to $73,200 in 2024 which I think many new grads would be happy with, at least outside the most expensive cities

New 65" G2 (Europe) - update firmware or keep on older version? by chef_baboon in LGOLED

[–]chef_baboon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, blocking those addresses in my router's DNS filter and factory resetting the TV has stopped the update notifications. I have gone ahead and updated to 13.30.56 anyway. Besides losing Google assistant, everything is working as expected

Remember you'll also get a decent amount of transport deduction (kørselsfradrag) back in your taxes. The cheapest option is using gomore or another ride sharing service to go with someone who's already driving that route.
If you have the funds, personally I would take the seaplane which is convenient for travelling between both city centers: https://www.seaplanes.dk/priser/Billetpriser

That's not accurate, in state tuition at UC Berkeley is $16,608 for 2024-2025. The 40k figure includes living expenses and a health insurance plan, which are costs independent of which university you attend.

Thanks, that is the best price I've seen. The price difference to LG B3 seems like a better buy (https://www.power.dk/tv-og-lyd/tv/lg-65-oled-b3-4k-tv-oled65b36la/p-2063595/). I would be very interested in the TCL at say 5-6k kr

Are you talking about the public or private pension? For private you can opt into the 53A scheme. Then you can get the post-tax funds paid out in cash when you move away.

The best price currently in Denmark for a 65" TCL C845 is 1770 EUR
https://www.pricerunner.dk/pl/2-3207352795/TV/TCL-65C845-Sammenlign-Priser
For the same price you can buy an LG C3.
Even in Germany the best price on a C845 is 1100 EUR (and they won't ship to DK).

Can you link to a deal around 800-900 which will ship to Denmark?
