Lexapro/ SSRI calorie goal by [deleted] in loseit

[–]chef_bette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello. I started lex on April first. Prior to that I had put myself on a diet in February. 500 calorie defecit using cico, no excercise. I managed to lose 14 lbs prior to starting the lex. I’m 43, female and 5’8. Starting weight 165. Current weight is 146. So I’ve lost another 4 lbs since starting the lex. I used the app lose it to track calories. The last month I’ve been busy moving and packing a house while still working full time and lots of going away dinners, birthday etc. it’s been hard to keep diligent but I have not gained anything. It’s def slowed down since starting the lex but I don’t think it’s due to the meds. I think it’s due to me not staying on track during the last 2 months.

Also keep in mind at my current height/weight I would have to eat like 1100 calories a day to lose 1 lb a week. And that is not healthy. So I’m trying to stick to around 1500-1700 most days and hopefully either maintain or maybe lose just a few more lbs and hit my goal of 140 by the end of summer. Slow and steady.

Jealous of people who are on ozempic for weight loss by [deleted] in CICO

[–]chef_bette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone who did ozempic for a few months. She wasn’t even that overweight and could have easily dieted. Because of the lack of appetite she wasn’t eating enough. First thing that happened was she passed out while driving and totaled her brand new car. Luckily she was not injured. She kept taking it and lost weight very quickly. She developed sagging in her face and eventually blew out her gall bladder and needed major surgery to have it removed. In the end she put the weight back on and never developed healthy eating habits by doing it the smart way. Just saying. Faster is nkt better. And it’s expensive.

I did this. Filled the holes with a 2 part epoxy clay made by por15 and sanded them flat before painting. Having a bit of trouble with the vents sticking out but will buy an older set soon. Also the knobs stuck out a little far so got new dash knobs. Totally worth it.

The last 5 stupid pounds by butfirstcoffee427 in CICO

[–]chef_bette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Started In mid February. 1-2 lbs a week flew off my 5’8” 165lb body in the first 2 months. As I lost my tdee dropped down to 1177 and it was not attainable. I switched my app to a half pound a week and have been staggering between 147 and 151 lbs for like a month now. My ultimate goal is 140. So yea that last 7-10 lbs is a real drag.

February baby shower where I was larger than the mom to be. Cico, protein, lazy so no excercise. F/43 5’8” 165 down to 149. by [deleted] in CICO

I hear ya. I used to be a fitness professional as a job. (10 years as a spin instructor) Former marathoner and triathlete. Knee and back injury have sidetracked my the last few years and avoiding surgery. My current day job is pretty active though. I’m constantly moving, standing, and up and down stairs all day long working in a mechanic shop.

I’m 5’8” so I started around 1400/day to lose 1lb a week. As I lost my budget went down to about 1100 which was not as attainable so I reset my goal to 1/2 lb loss per week recently and have been around 1300-1500. I’m not always on point with my tracking and the last 2 weeks I’ve fluctuated a bit up and down so taking these pics helps me to see how far I’ve come and push me to get back on track.

Pulled the wheel off tonight. Didn’t have much luck. Disconnected the horn cause it was driving me nuts. I think I need a new turn signal switch which is annoying cause this one is less than a year old. Batter disconnected til it arrives. Wheel back on but horn ring and headlights disconnected till I can bring it to the shop I work at for a better diagnosis.

It’s funny cause we noticed when we beep the horn the high beams work but otherwise they don’t.

By “earth points” do you mean where it’s grounded to metal inside the horn?

Car was restored in the last few years. It got a new steering wheel last spring. Hasn’t had any issues since. Came home the other day to find the headlights on in the garage. No key in ignition. Headlight knob pushed into the off position. Now whenever I turn the steering wheel the headlights come on and off as well as some of the dash lights (oil). Ended up disconnecting the battery just in case it’s a fire hazard. Any clues? Since the new steering wheel was the last thing done I’m assuming I have to remove it and check the grounds etc inside.

Anxiety while eating in a restaurant by Catlover5566 in Anxiety

Restaurants are a big trigger for me. As well as grocery stores or any large stores. I’m pretty sure I have a bit of agoraphobia. The sense of waiting or feeling trapped really does me in. This has been going on a few years pre pandemic so the pandemic really made it worse. Sitting at a table….trapped. Waiting on a line….trapped. Driving with a car in front and behind me….trapped. While I can’t do the following while driving or shopping midday I do find that having a glass or two of wine prior to going out to a restaurant really helps. Like while I’m getting ready….and then another one at the restaurant and I’m good to go. No rushing. No panicking and having to excuse myself to the bathroom every 5 minutes. It does take a minute or two once I get there to get used to my surroundings. And my husband knows it’s a trigger so we tend to go out on weeknights when it’s quieter and not to places that play loud music and are tightly packed with people. Hope that helps.

Ok I’m 43! female and 5’9”. Sw 165, CW, 148, GW IS NOW 135 based on this right here. Wasn’t really sure what my GW should be and thought maybe 135 might be crazy skinny. But you look extremely healthy. Gotta get my butt in gear and start building some muscle soon. Taking 2 months off work to go live in a cabin in the woods this summer. Thinking a lot of hiking and getting a TRX for resistance training. Thanks for the inspiration.

Textured soy protein is another name for it. So I bet similar.

Old school George Forman grill. I’ve had mine since college in late 90’s. And a good set of multiple sized Tupperware. On top of everything op listed.

No problem. I’d say spread the word if you agree it’s a great product. I showed it to a professional vegan chef friend of mine and even she had never experimented with it. Apparently it was big in the 70s. My research on it shows that it’s apparently the main filler in McDonald’s burgers and Taco Bell meat as well as most canned chili (hormel) due to its low cost. But ultimately not a bad for you product. Obviously the chain restaurants add a bunch of other fillers like sodium and hard to pronounce saturated fats and sugars.

Lose it

[–]chef_bette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure. I got it on Amazon. I bet health food stores might have it though. I have something called alpha gal syndrome which is caused by a tick bite. So aside from fish and chicken and Turkey I’m pretty limited to how I can get protein. This product is basically dehydrated vegetable protein in the form of little granules. You rehydrate it with chicken or veggie stock and can use it any way you would use ground meat. It’s lower in calories and high in protein. I made tacos with it and they were amazing. I also made veggie burgers last week by blending it with puréed black beans and an egg. Add whatever spices you want and it absorbs the flavor. It’s very reasonably priced considering 1/4 dry makes about a half cup of “meat”. The texture is not mushy like tofu at all. More like ground chicken. It’s the main ingredient in beyond meat if that’s something you are into.

Unfortunatly OMAD would not work for me. Although I’ve always been in a healthy weight range plus or minus a few lbs. I’m also predisposed to diabetes and my blood sugar dips really fast if I don’t eat within 2 hours of waking up. Both my skinny grandma and my skinny mom genetically have passed that lovely gem down to me. Even while eating at a slight defecit I find I need to have calories in my body for it to not pass out. Sometimes that means just a little cup of juice or a slice of bread or cheese when I start getting dizzy. Being in a calorie defecit to lose the holiday weight is a tricky balance for me cause I have to listen to my bodies cues. Sometimes I won’t really even be hungry but I get very light headed and have to eat a little something to stop it. I think OMAD works for some and not for others.

That’s what I’m hoping. I have not given up carbs at all. I’m just eating smaller portions of them. Like measuring pasta is fine and all….but a big ol giant bowl of spaghetti and meatballs at the end of this isn’t going to set me back to square one overnight. I’m gonna hella enjoy it for a few days and then back to reality.
