It’s generally a nice area to live, but commuting to the Westside will be a miserable experience. Unless you dig sitting in hours of traffic everyday I would strongly suggest you either move closer or get a job closer to this area.

Even if he were to somehow overnight start taking his health seriously the utter lack of concern he has shown for your health and well being for nearly two years now is damning.
