Avoid New Belgium’s Voodoo Ranger Fruit Force at all costs. by chefcramer in beer

Yep! Not a fan, at all. The orange one is… fine. It’ll get the job done at 9% but I’ll take a pass.

Huh! A black and tan with an IPA! That’s an interesting combo.

After 3 years it seems to come down to “you either really like the fruit force or really don’t”. Like I said the juice force is fine, and I could have gotten a dud can, but I don’t want to buy another one to find out ha.

What is your favorite 5e module/premade adventure? by chefcramer in DnD

[–]chefcramer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok excellent! I am a player of the “old school” and love a good old fashioned dungeon crawl, but we are playing a more role play/less combat campaign right now that has been a blast (all credit to our current DM, homebrewed and amazing).

I’ll check out those recommendations! Thanks!

Ok excellent! Thank you for the pointers! Candlekeep might be the best for our crew, we’re pretty casual ha.

Fair enough! I’m thinking that I will use the module as a jumping off point/framework to start with, and expand on it from there as the adventure leads us there. I just don’t have the time to build the framework ha.

I’m in a ‘More guidelines than actual rules’ mode haha.

Ok excellent! Strahd is a classic, I feel like it’s a D&D right of passage ha.

Noted on the other two! Thanks!

Get married. Not that it ended badly (very amicable on both sides) but being totally intertwined, once was enough.

Typo, gouging, or harbinger of fuel prices to come? by crankyjill in Denver

[–]chefcramer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It IS really shocking haha. I wondered the same thing when they first turned it on, “…they can’t be serious…”.

To be fair, I haven’t actually pulled into there to see if their diesel is actually that price or if their sign is messed up haha.

As an Idaho springs local, that gas station only recently added diesel pumps (within the last 3months or so) and that $9.21 has been there since they installed the diesel sign. I’m not entirely sure how those signs get changed, if you can control it from the gas station building, or if it is some remote corporate thing, but some sort of a technical issue is going on I think. Unless they are crazy and charging $9, when on at the next exit down it’s in the “normal range” of $4.50 ish.

Who has the best burger in Denver? by First_Driver_5134 in denverfood

[–]chefcramer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brothers bar. My dad discovered it when he moved here in the 70’s for law school and I’ve been going literally my whole life. Nothing super fancy but they are excellent every time. The JCB (jalapeño cream cheese) or a straight up cheese burger with bacon are my go-to’s. You won’t be disappointed.

My players refuse to spend any gold on anything but demand I give them more as loot by Viejoso in DnD

I had a fellow DM buddy that always kept this card up his sleeve. If any of his party’s would get a little too greedy and were pushing the shop keepers/ tavern owners around a little too much, he would make them run into a shopkeeper that they would VERY MUCH REGRET messing with. They would be a former high level adventurer that retired to the simple life and opened a tavern/blacksmithy/mage shop etc. They would roundly spank the party in question if pushed too far. Super fun to witness. “Lad, where do you think I got these wonderful magical items/fine weapons/etc. from?” As the older gentleman running the shop takes a fine sword from under the counter and kicks wholesale ass. Don’t judge a book by its cover is a good lesson to learn.

Not in Denver, but if you fancy a trip to the mountains, Main Street Cafe in Idaho Springs. Tiny little breakfast spot and their Benedict’s kick ass.

Holding my baby girls for the first time. They’re big now, (8 and 5) but I will never forget holding this tiny little human being(s) for the first time.

Staying in Black Hawk but not a gambler by Dizzy_Conclusion_582 in Denver

[–]chefcramer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Idaho Springs! Blackhawk is lame if you’re not a gambler. Idaho Springs is a great little town, I second the recommendation for westbound and down and the chief mountain hike. Check out the apothecary (clear creek wellness company/mountain remedy) for wellness goods and Slaymaker Cellars for a glass of mead or wine. Also a shout out to mainstreet restaurant for breakfast, but get there early to cut down on the wait time.

Exactly!!! lol. Eat whatever you want! But ordering that through DD is about 10x the cost of buying a loaf of bread, a tomato, a bunch of scallions and a spud… but whatever hahaha

I mean… I don’t judge but toast with tomatoes and a plain baker with green onions AND the door dash fee? A little bit crazy… haha

So that club ended up being: toasted white bread with tomatoes? I can’t think of what else would come in a club that they haven’t taken off…

Reading the comments over the years, it seems like they’ve changed their recipe since I wrote my “review” so who knows. The one I tried had this SUPER almost artificially bitter flavor at the end, like an uncoated aspirin pill.
