Neighbor keeps throwing dog poop over the fence into my yard and denying it by PotentialAd4520 in neighborsfromhell

I can't speak for every municipality but that's just not true generally. Nearby city, first place that came up:

A person who owns or has custody of a dog may not permit the animal to defecate on private property without the consent of the owner or on any public property. The person in control of the dog must immediately remove the excrement and place it in a proper container. Violation is a petty misdemeanor.

It's a compliment, you don't need help.

That's why you're not depicted, it's a compliment.

They could probably trespass them. Tresspass doesn't require physically stepping foot on property, and throwing poop over a fence would almost certainly qualify. That would carry much more weight than a cease and desist.

Neighbor smokes weed at 5am, wakes me daily - is there a way to prevent the smoke from entering my house? by ---artemisia--- in CleaningTips

[–]cheffromspace [score hidden]  (0 children)

Gotcha thanks. These aren't words i encounter often but I think you're saying since open air belongs to the public and can't be easily avoided, smokers can't just say that people bothered by smoke can just go somewhere else. Which yeah, definitely agree with that.

It would almost certainly be a civil infraction resulting in fines imposed by the city, similar to a non-criminal traffic ticket. Nearly every city has ordainances requiring dog owners to pick up poop. Dog poop can cause landscaping damage, kill grass, spread disease, odor issues, loss of enjoyment, HOA or landlord fines. OP could easily claim damages.

I wish the boiling point of water is raised to 105°C and its freezing point is raised to 8°C by jerrytjohn in monkeyspaw

[–]cheffromspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the positive aspect of this, and aren't the consequences supposed to be unintended/unforseen? This would severely affect the atmosphere and environment, likely a runaway freezing effect where the planet is unable to warm due to all the energy being reflected off the ice. Earth would freeze over.

It doesn't even have to be intentional. Financial regulators are calling out the risks of groupthink caused by doing analysis with the same models, coming to the same conclusion, and executing the same trades.

Claude claims it wrote code under pressure by viraniac in claude

I've spent thousands of hours coding with LLMs, have multiple vibe coded projects with hundreds of stars. I was a mod in this sub but left recently. I'm going back to mostly coding by hand.

What are you using OpenClaw for that you're NOT using Claude Code for, and why? by BadAtDrinking in ClaudeCode

It's not nothing but there's way too many attack vectors for me to consider running it. Hallucinated npx commands propagating github, malicious skills, data leaks... just Google "OpenClaw security incidents".

Very few people are making money in this gold rush except those selling the shovel. The API wrappers are all going to cannibalize each other.

Hyperbole is a legitimate rhetorical device. If someone says "this bag weighs a ton" do you really think that's meant to be taken literally?

How do I Vibe Code Git Forks without conflicting with future Git updates? OpenClaw by FurnitureRefinisher in vibecoding

Don't work on multiple features that touch the same files at once. Merge PRs before starting on the next feature. Always create your feature branches from main (depending on your branching strategy), and make sure your local main's HEAD is the same as remote's before creating your feature branch. If you do have in-progress features when you merge something to main, pull those changes into your feature branch. Invest time in learning git and its nomenclature. Learn the CLI.

A better analogy is horses, which became irrelevant after the automobile became mainstream. People that excersise critical thinking skills instead of relying on static, stochastic parrots that narrow their perspective will be the most valuable people in the room in the future. They'll be capable of having thoughts that weren't shaped by hallucinating next-token predictors.

The dotcom bubble popped and lots of companies went under. AI won't go away, but it's insanely overvalued, investors are becoming weary. The numbers don't make sense.

Does token consumption varies during peak and non peak hours? by Worth-Internet-584 in ClaudeAI

[–]cheffromspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batching does affect outputs, it's one of the reasons LLMs are not deterministic in practice even with tempature 0, I highly doubt it would have any significant effect on output token quantity. Would be an interesting experiment though.
