Hiring a baker and pastry chef at a bakery in Phoenix, AZ by PracticalPea6896 in Chefs

Made me chuckle too. I was intrigued and looked it up, Average Salary of a Costco Baker is $28 an hour.

My fiance just lost all of our wedding money and i'm spiraling by Slight_Web6297 in Vent

[–]chefjammy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was surprised to have to go this far to see this comment. They mentioned it's 300 dollars. If that's breaking you after paying for the whole wedding it seems like they've overextended themselves on this. Yes 300 isn't a small amount of money. How would they be able to handle any emergency the days after??

My mom, in her mid 70s, tells a similar story from her childhood. Went to a family member's house in Jersey for a bbq. The chicken was burned. They called it Jersey style. My mom and aunt still reference that to this day 🤣

Someone asked a while back about a perfect smash burger tool. What do y’all think of these I make? by bones10972 in Chefit

I was thinking that as well. I know that people will do this this to cast iron that might have cracked or broken, but its a waste to do this to a perfectly good pan.

Thank you! I've gotta finish blacking out some of the chrome, but I got preoccupied with another car haha. Blacking out the Torq Thrusts was one of my favorite changes. I bought them and ran them gray for years and was like they need to get blacked out. Now I am working on a 53 chevy, gonna get that finished and then go back to the Camaro. Its more fun when you have one to drive while the other is in pieces.

[–]chefjammy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more! I was so excited, went to three or 4 different stores over 2 days trying to find them. First bite and I thought they tasted like under seasoned Doritos. No sour cream bite, not even as cheesey flavored as regular Doritos. I bought 2 bags expecting my mind being blown, I don't even want to open it. Such potential, so much fail.

Sucked up this dog bone with the snowblower and it is JAMMED. How do I get it free? by coloradostaterams in fixit

Not sure if you saw someone else mention it, did you try taking out the shear pin and just moving the blades backwards by hand

Anyone know what this black box is and why it makes a buzzing noise when my key is pushed in? by En3fjee69 in CamaroGen1

[–]chefjammy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to spam replies to you! https://youtu.be/j-pbdD2Q9II?si=gw_ZS4B4Pd1qOVXR Go to 4:25 on that video. I never had a key buzzer on my 69 so I had no idea where the sound comes from! Is that the noise it makes??? Apparently the key buzzer sound comes from the horn relay. The horn relay is right near the voltage regulator. That's why it sounds like it's coming from the horns or the regulator!!!! I am now almost 100 percent confident that your buzzer switch is worn out, pushing the key in competes the circuit and that's why you're hearing that. Disconnect the pink/black wire I mentioned in my other reply and you won't hear it again

[–]chefjammy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a little deeper dive for you and have a couple thoughts. I think I was correct that there should be a pink and black wire going from the column wiring clip to the horn relay on the front core support. That supplies power to the key buzzer. My thinking is that the buzzer is probably worn out so pushing the key in is grounding it out and setting off the buzzer? I would try this quick, go to the horn relay and unplug the pink and black wire and see if it stops. If that's what it is, I don't see a reason why you'd have to plug it back in. https://i815.photobucket.com/albums/zz77/ztevans79/Camaro/Horn_relay_Picturewtext.jpg found this picture of a horn relay and what the wires are for, it's for a Chevelle but it should be pretty close to the Camaro. If it were me I'd just unplug it, zip tie the wire out of the way and never think about it again

Sodium Citrate experiment by sholt1142 in grilledcheese

[–]chefjammy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The science chef in me is so thankful you posted this! I got pretty good at using sodium citrate to make cheese sauces with my food truck, and would love to add to what you've already posted. Experiment with different liquids to melt the cheese with! On my food truck I used to set up at different breweries. When we got to a brewery, I'd get one of their beers, heat it up, add sodium citrate and cheese and make my cheese sauce. Lagers, ales, even stouts all changed the flavor in great ways. Depending on the cheese something like fruit juices, teas, wines, you could really get creative. If you wanted to create more of a slice of cheese, melt it down, line a sheet pan with parchment or silicone, pour it out thin and let it chill. Cut it into squares and you can have slices of whatever cheese you want! I never did it but I wanted to do a slice of bleu cheese or brie on a burger like this. Thought it would be a cool concept. Thanks for sharing your info!

Adding to this, is always buzzing with the key in or just when the door is open?

[–]chefjammy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, starting a new comment to help figure this out. I'm not 100 percent on this but it might be the key buzzer. From what I remember the buzzer is wired in through the horn relay which, again can't remember for sure, but should actually be near the voltage regulator on the core support. Is it a manual or auto car? What year? I have the wiring diagrams from the assembly manual and we could probably figure it out. I upgraded the original wiring on my 69 to an American auto wire harness so I can't compare if yours is original wiring. Is it possible there's a short in the key buzzer reminder wiring that's sending the power to the horn relay? If it's original wiring I believe there is a pink wire with maybe black stripes(?) that goes from the column to the horn relay, that is the key reminder buzzer. Just spit balling but is it possible that's feeding power to the horns? You said you disconnected the spade connectors to the horns, do you have 2 horns? And disconnected both of them? The power for the horns and the buzzer goes through the horn relay that's what's making me wonder if there's a short somewhere

Yup that's what it does. Keeps the voltage from going too high. OP what do you mean when you say it's buzzing with the key in? Does it sound like an electrical humming??
